2v2 Island Team17

T17 is strongly skill-based. What I've observed is that with a sufficient gap in skill, the differences in luck within any given round will almost always average out, and the stronger player will win. I would conjecture there to be at least 4 tiers of skill in which the person with higher skill wins at least 85% of the time.

It surely applies to Cave Team17, but does it still apply to Island T17? As I was practising these days with Albus, Gmax, Danie we found:
- Concrete Donkey
- Armageddon
- French Sheeps
- MB Bomb
- Magic Bullet

Additionally, whenever somebody found Aqua Sheep he would instantly swipe all the crates all over the island and it sometimes happened that another Aqua was in one of them.

Exactly.

We should have another pool of prize money for betting on the winners and somehow come up with odds for the different teams and their chances of to win.

I bet Komodo could analysis some pre-existing games to work out those odds.

ps, sorry that I come from a country where betting on sports is legal, is this allowed in the US or illegal?

pps. i realise that this won't actually happen but my point is that there is a lot of skill involved!

Actually, that's Dario's area of expertise, the stuff I analyzed before is simple stuff. Dario pulls logs and does some more advanced stuff I think.

The stuff I presented in the other thread did show that Team17 has the lowest win ratio out of every Allround scheme and there were a lot of very highly skilled players there during that first era of TUS.

Every scheme in TUS Allround has a lot of skill involved.

Magic bullet is in cave too. I don't like CD, saw quite a few triple kills of full hp worms with it. And  armageddon, it can ruin the game imo.

Magic Bullet is naturally also in Cave T17 but its appearance in Island T17 drastically changes its threat from being a standard SD weapon, to a weapon that can randomly swipe any worm from any corners of the island map. Same goes with Aqua to some degree.

Island map is of course fun and entertaining for Team17 (possibly having faster pace). Although if somebody really wanted to maintain this scheme being skill-based, then 2x Caved Team17 is the way to go in my opinion. But again, it doesn't need to be. The fact that the cup has Double Elimination is already a lot.

First of all, thanks for organizing this cup, I can't wait to get it started.

Hopefully all those registered play soon and do not leave the cup hanging as has been seen in other cups.
Maybe to avoid that there should be an activity limit. For example, if a team does not play in 1 or 2 weeks, it is eliminated
But hey, it's just an opinion. You are the organizers and you will know how to handle it.
