Description:

Welcome to the Trio 17 Cup! The games will be played on three different maps, allowing the players to test their skills on varied terrain and conditions.
The three map styles that will be used in this cup are:
1. 4 walled cave: A dark and gloomy cavern filled with twisting tunnels and hidden passageways, this map is perfect for sneaky players who like to take their opponents by surprise.
2. Island map: A sprawling island chain with high cliffs and treacherous waters, this map requires strategic thinking and careful planning to navigate.
3. Traditional T17 map: A classic map that's been a fan favorite for years, this map is perfect for those who like to play it safe and stick to the fundamentals.

The first player chooses which map the game will be played on, and then the second player chooses. If the score is tied at 1-1, the last map will be used as the tiebreaker. This system ensures that players will have to prove themselves on each type of map, and that the winner will be the one who can adapt to the changing environment the best. The same mapstyle can't be repeated twice in a row. e.g.: if island map is picked first, 2nd pick can't be island again.
In case players can't decide between themselves who picks the first map style, use an online rock-paper-scissors minigame to solve it, the player who wins it, gets to pick first.
https://www.rpsgame.org/
In case of draw, just go on with your next pick, don't repeat the same map style.
1) Player 1 picks island map (Player 1 wins, 1:0)
2) Player 2 picks double layer map (Draw 1:0)
3) Third map is default to play on 4 walled map (Player 2 wins, 1:1)
4) Player 1 picks again, whatever map style he wants out of the 3 (Player 1 wins 2:1)
This is an example how a bo3 series of match should look like in Trio17.

4 worms per team
Group stage, KO stage, Finals: bo3

Great to have a Team17 cup, but I must say I do not approve of the scheme. This was meant for Lupastic's Roofless T17. The longbow is a bit too weak, and lots of superweapons have been disabled that make for interesting, fun games.

I would prefer that this scheme be used.

Wow, Senator joined? I thought he insisted on playing Team17 only on islands.

Speaking of which, what order should we play the map types in? Both of these ways would alternate who-goes-first fairly, due to the odd number of map types:

  • Type1 Type2 Type3 Type1 Type2 Type3 ...
  • Type1 Type1 Type2 Type2 Type3 Type3...

I would lean toward Method #1. Both types of course only give the 3 map types equal representation if the number of games played is divisible by 3, but Method #2 is more likely to completely omit some map types from play, whereas Method #1 only requires that at least 3 rounds be played to give each type at least some representation.

Both methods distribute "who goes first" equally among the map types if the number of games played is divisible by 3.

keep in mind, sometimes certain matches won't even make it to round 3, to play all 3 mapstyles
because: first to 2 wins (bo3)
that's why it might be important of who gets to pick first. if there is no common agreement - then as it is written in the description of the cup - do a quick rock-paper-scissors minigame, and whoever wins that will get to pick first.

anyway, each player has their own strength of mapstyle.. some might want island, others might want only double layer caves (the OG players :D ) everyone should try to choose by common agreement which mapstyle they wanna start with.. the rockpaperscissors minigame is there to solve a disagreement. this cup only adds a little extra unique feature like to face each other on multiple style of maps

everyone: please read the cup description before you start playin
