Description:
Winner Takes The Hamilton Cup

Heya people, there I am again, finally. The time has come for another of Jakka's Cups. And this time, to spice it up a little, winner takes $10! Of course it's almost nothing, but I'm doing it anyway just for the sake of it. So don't be shy go go! But keep in mind, just like the last time, I will not babysit anyone.

Participants

Everybody is free to participate regardless of skill level, clan, gender or race. The only requirement is that you are willing to play your games in given time. Do NOT sign up if you have doubts you are able to play ALL games within the time limit. If you don't agree on any of the following rules, do not sign up then as well.

Rules and Schemes

- Rules concerning glitches and map choice are same as the ONL rules and the ONL scheme is the only valid scheme.
- Games in the group stage are best of 3, best of 5 during play offs and best of 7 in the final.
- in case a group is not finished activity is prefered over win/loss ratio. (eg: player 1 played all group games and lost all | Player 2 played 2 games and won both | still player 1 proceeds into KOs)
- You are obliged to let a streamer join your game if he asks for it. (Whether it is Alex13, me or anybody else)
- in case there will be people with same amount of points in a (finished) group the won/lost rounds will be considered. Won rounds minus lost rounds equals the difference. The player with the higher difference proceeds. If the difference is the same a tiebreaker will be played.

Deadlines

After the sign ups I will set a deadline of two or three weeks for the group stage. The KO stages will have only one week each. Just like the last time there is no way of postponing the deadline no matter how good your excuse is, so think in advance and play your games right away! If needed I will make walk overs as I please.

Prize

1st place - $10

Use this forum to arrange your games to enable a smooth monitoring and easier decision making if a walk over has to take place.

Have fun

cheats and lies, i am afraid U wanna break my won streak in TUS normal cups ...........  :-X
i beat Kayz + (2 obvious super easy wins) so i definitely should be first....  8)
stupid rules are simply wrong  :) so I dont accept them.  Even 2;0 is better then 2;1 lol

i quit, let worm gamer play vs NickyNick

Antares, why are you so upset? Everyone can see that you try to make an arrangement, so why bother if he's not coming, by the time the week passes you will advance into the next stage, simly because he is avoiding you. Yes, it sucks that people don't keep their word. Nevertheless you should be patient.

Koras,
first, the main post clearly states
Quote
If you don't agree on any of the following rules, do not sign up[...]
. So I don't see anything stupid here but you.
Second, seeing other cups taking like a half year to finish or just dying in the middle of it (see last inter cup on tus), I saw no other possibility but creating a very strict set of rules for everyone, since I'm not willing to nurse people or wait half a year. It worked extremely well last summer and it seems to work pretty well now, too. So I don't see any reason to change them even slightly. If I have to pick between fixing what already works by breaking my words and rules or let one bitchy primadonna go, I choose the lesser evil.
2:0 is not better than 2:1, because
Quote
[...]activity is prefered over win/loss ratio[...]
. ;)
Once you sober up you may decide to continue playing, so I'm not kicking you out just yet. If not, I will not have a guilty conscience removing you.

Koras, if you want to discuss the rules or file a complaint there are certain sections in the forum just for that. Be my guesst and write your heart off there. But before that, please, have some training in discussing a matter, building an argument and backing up a statement. Otherwise I don't see a chance for you.

And the dictatorship goes on~~

lacoste, Mab, Kayz and chuvash, would be cool if you people already started to play the quarter final games. :P

I think Jakka's decision is fine, because it teaches us to get our games played or suffer the consequences; this kind of strictness helps for future cups. I'll play lacoste as soon as I can, probably much easier since I see him on mIRC.

But arranging is probably best, lacoste, is there any day you can play at 20 GMT?

Jakka is right. Activity > winning ratio. Otherwise some people like Koras wouldn't bother themselves to play all games in time. No doubts, Worm_gamer was an easy win for Koras, but it's just disrespectful to the cup & it's players to say "2 obvious super easy wins".

It has nothing to do with what you mentioned, i don't care as much about advancing/wining as i care for respect and for my time, time i lost waiting.

Anyway, np, i found Gadzet and played him today. I already reported ...

C'mon Fanto, let's play the 1/8! :D
I'm available all day so i guess i see you in ag!

PS: thanks for the support post you've written. :)

Okay, I didn't want to it to look like you care for advancing only. Just, while talking about how disrespectful the guy was, you come here and are disrespectful against TUS and the cup in particular. There is no reason to punish the cup for this guy's actions, come on you are not 13 anymore to get that upset about a random player in a game. :P

Good job you caught him and spanked with a leather belt!

Fair enough! But I wasn't bitching about this cup :O
And i was not bitching about tus either, just stated that this kind of lags was the reason for me not playing regular cups.

I was just upset because of my time, period.

I will play Fanto in 5 min or so ... cya laters and hf to all!

Yes, you were not "bitching" against the cup, but when a 1/8 finalist says: Give me a free los, I don't want to bother anymore; I do find it a little disrespectful. :)
Enough of this shit, gl hf Anta and Fanta.

Well, so... Due to my provider sucking balls, I didn't have a stable internet connection on the PC where I can play worms for the whole week. At the moment of writing, I don't even have any internet at all, so I'm posting this from Mac via neighbours' wi-fi spot. If nothing changes, I guess I'll have to use a netbook to play, since tomorrow is the last day... I didn't quite understand if Koras wants to continue or not, but anyway, tomorrow I'm available to play for the whole day.

I'm arranging a time with Chuvash for the NNNL playoffs at the same time as this... just tell me when you can play at 19 or 20 GMT after we play those playoffs, Chuv
