Well that's the point, it should be skill competition, not seeing who has the most free time / who can make it their highest priority.

Do you not even have the slightest idea how ridiculous that sounds?

Take a look at all professional sports, and games, what do they all have in common to be the best? They practise like their lifes depend on it, and not only do they become successful, it makes it more interesting to watch and be a part of seeing people compete at their peak.

Using picker is like if the next World Cup was played using a Rugby Ball without any notice instead of a Football, it's completely random and unprepared, the fans would be f**king bored, the players would be rubbish lol.

Quote from: spleen17 on July 18, 2016, 01:30 PM
You are looking at it backwards, it would benefit the 'noobs' more to use picker, seeing as everyone is out of practice anyway. Better for both players to go in cold.

I'm looking at it backwards? LMAO, i'm almost in tears laughing at how stupid this sounds, thanks for that :D

Both players go in cold, look like noobs, get crappy scores, the luckier player wins, OR! Practise a bit so you can have a proper game with better scores and more impressive gameplay, not to mention more confidence and satisfaction from doing good!

People are out of practise but it's still like riding a bike, guys like me and Marian, Hurz, Triad and yourself will have a MUCH MUCH higher chance of winning than people who don't even know how to play maps, we still roughly know the swing, they don't, how can you not even know this it's insane lol.

It's a competition, not a f**king nursery.

Quote from: spleen17 on July 18, 2016, 01:30 PM
It's one of the reasons darts started to die out imo, it became more of a memory test than an actual game. But, it's Hurz's cup, he can decide. :)

No, Darts started to die because people f**ked it up with stupid requests and wanting things to be too easy/luck based, that, along with the temptation to play more popular schemes instead, plus I quit to do music and you guys didn't care or try to host stuff yourselves.

Everything about this game requires memory, what an irrelevant point...

MarianRV

Shouldn't we replace Pr1nce 01 maybe? Just sayin...

spleen17

I'm really not interested in arguing with you Komo, sorry. I was giving an opinion, but as always you are completely dismissive of anyone's views besides your own, without even trying to understand where they are coming from.

You say you quit dS to work on music? Go do it then, stop getting involved in 10-page arguments on tus every single day.

TheKomodo

Typical excuse from somebody who is losing a debate - "you are completely dismissive, blah blah blah blah", if I was being dismissive I wouldn't reply with facts and logic, and i'd be insulting you instead of trying to prove you wrong, but you have my respect so I give you the time of day.

My logic is flawless in regards to my counter to your "skill competition", you ken it, ah ken it, even patsy kensit ;)

And why the F**K do people keep saying "without trying to understand yahdy yahdy yah..." If I didn't understand what you were saying I wouldn't even be able to f**king discuss it, stop being silly man.

I am doing music, and this, what's wrong with that lol.

Using the same maps for each game may have worked when there was more active 'pro' darters around, but now that the scheme is pretty much dead I would rather focus more on the fun element in order to bring new players into the game. If that means the competition level drops for a while then so be it. But honestly, darts died out because you were always pushing into becoming some kind of elitist 'pro sport' type of game. The gap in skill level between the pros and the noobs became too big, and the fun dried up for both. I know this is true in many schemes, but in our case the player pool is simply too small for it work.

A new player will have a better chance of beating a pro on random maps, because pros will practice and the new players probably won't. You see this as a good thing, I don't. I would rather have a more open and fun competition that will generate more interest in the scheme.

I know you want to be thought of as the best player around because you are a highly ego-driven person (which is also why you have to claim victory in every argument you are involved in), and you will probably practice these maps for hours until no one can beat you. I think your arguments here are purely selfish and not in the best interests of the scheme, or its long-term popularity.

What a ridiculous arguement lol.

For starters, when Darts started and there were hardly any players we used the same 3 maps(the only ones that existed) and everyone was happy, your arguement here is bullsh*t.

Darts died because people like you are f**king impossible to satisfy, always moaning about sh*t and then not putting in the effort that people like me do, you could never make up your minds or just stick to a f**king decision.

Who gives a f**k about the skill gap? That's their problem, the skill gap in almost every scheme is huge between noobs and pros, if you like something you'll get better.

Oh I see, so you're the kind of sissy that wants everyone to be a winner lol

That's life, that's how competition works, the people who put in the effort SHOULD be rewarded with success, you are a complete idiot if you want to reward people who suck.

I bet you always won the wooden spoon at school lol.

Ok, this is YOUR ego here not mine, like everyone else who doesn't stand out, you are the one that's butthurt, not me.

I get so passionate about some things it's natural for me to excel because the fire burns inside me, I don't practise things to get good and win, I get good and win because I love doing it, and enjoy that. I've had to deal with people like you my whole life lol, and i've seen other people have to deal with people like you too, the average guy who isn't passionate enough about anything.

Darts would be nothing without me, my pure love and passion for the game made it what it is, always seeking ways to improve it, being creative and using my imagination, working hard, unlike people like you which f**king killed it with your "let's all sit in the garden and pick daisys" attitude and general f**king laziness.

You think i'm lying? Go learn your f**king statistics and history before speaking bullsh*t, everytime I quit dS/stopped playing Darts died(fact) because I was the one who put most of the effort in, Hurz is the only one who put any effort in too, but it was too much for him alone, he needed help and NO ONE gave him it, so who is really selfish??

All you done the entire time was moan and whine about things could be better but when you had the chance you done nothing! I quit and didn't show my face for like half a year, did you do anything to make the scheme better? NO YOU F**KING DIDN'T! So don't blame other people for your lack of creativity/passion.

Peja

time to update your ignorelist bro  ;D

Btw I know other guys like triad done some work too but overall they were very inactive.

Bah, regardless of our opinions I always liked you and no need for me to talk to you the way I did, I got carried away, sorry for insulting you, I'll shutup about this now.

TheKomodo

It says 4 groups, 5 in each, it'd be better 5 groups of 4 no? MI could make this more custom managable?
..,
Does that mean 3 players go through out of each group? Never seen a 20 player Cup before...

piki1802

2 go through.

The reason why its not 4 players in 5 is that that scheme gives you -> 10 in ko -> 5 in ko (LL) -> 3 in KO (3 way final wich is not possible in TUS.

Lez start?

TheKomodo

That's a shame because Darts is one of the most versatile schemes for Tournaments/Cups.

You can have 3 players in 1 game easily, or 4, or 5, or 6 lol.

I've asked MI about this in the past but he's always too busy :( I've even offered to pay him, still too busy lol.

Flexible and custom manageable Tournaments is the way forward man!

Also, no need to rush I think, they discussing rules in dS or something.

Godmax

Ahh so you cant play Marian but you keep signing up for cups? What the f@#! is this?

piki1802

And you keep complaining and sometimes even pulling out of cups and yet u play them? Shaddap willya :D

Godmax

Well that was a win for someone else so no prob at all. Waiting for weeks and weeks for a match automatically disqualifies for any cups in general or at least it should!
