Actually Mario series started with Giana sisters or at least got inspired with Giana sisters. Giana character collects a colorful ball and her appearance change. Mario collects mushroom.
There are many similarities. For example after the first level, Giana goes into a tube, same happens in Mario.

Here's how you can play Giana sisters:
1. Download WinVICE, It is Commodore64 emulator. (3rd, 4th, 5th items in the list are for windows)
2. Download Giana sisters! (Download button is at the bottom of page)
3. Run WinVICE, Click on file on top and click on "Autostart disk/tape image" and select Giana sisters you downloaded.
4. Wait 10-15 seconds till the Giana sisters load.
5. Play Giana Sisters!!
6. Now come here and tell me Mario is a rip off of Giana sisters!

lol! LOL! First mario game came out in 1985, and The Great Giana Sisters came out in 1987. Either way it's a funny game with cult hit. As long as someone copy Mario Game well enough, it will going to be good I suppose... LOL

This was my first computer game that i ever played. I got amiga from my uncle and played this on it jaja. Best game musics there! I just remember that i never passed the last level;( Shame that my mom threw my amiga out of the window years ago.
