How can i be a quoting pro?!

i never could figure out how to quote sections of someones post, for me its either all or nothing...

can anyone help a newb out??

i have tried highlighting the text i want, then pressing the quote button, i thought for sure that would do the trick, but FAiL.

please give me a quote tutorial

maybe i did not make myself clear.

say i want to quote one paragraph from you... then make comments

then quote another of your paragraphs... and make comments

then another quote... and make comments.

how do i do this?? or do people just copy and paste each paragraph in the tags??

so, if i want to do this, i have to open notebook, and copy and paste the initial tag

edit: i just answered my own question, i think.... if click "quote" from somones post, i can copy and paste this tag

then copy and paste their paragraph, then repeat steps... i guess opening notebook would not be necessary, unless the post i wanted to quote was a page back, and there for not in the "topic summary" ...

better not use this many quotes paragraphs but just say in one sentence wtf is wrong with komo. Saves us all time reading ae.

edit: just gotta add some additional bb tags while you reply.
edit2: and that's just [ quote ] without the username. So no need to ctrl v.
So dont need to include author every paragraph. It's only better if you're quoting from messages by different authors.

anyway i fully understand, and yes HHC, the problem was always me, and not the bbcode... i never said there was anything wrong with bbcode, i just thought there was an easier way to do this.

but i guess people are just doing a lot of copy and pasting
