Why do we even have Playoffs? Nobody seems to care even the slightest in being reliable, efficient and organized for Playoffs.
Literally, look at ANY playoffs for anything in the past year and see how absolutely lazy and useless everyone is at organizing their matches quickly...
Sometimes, if you're lucky, you get a Cup, and they play all their Group games in 1 day, so why can't they do the same bloody thing for playoffs? Why do people like to leave it for months before playing their games?
What's funny is you see all these excuses for not being available, yet you still see them playing other video games, chilling with their friends etc. So I've got to ask, why do people even want Playoffs when they visibly and noticeably cannot put the effort into getting their games done?
Personally I am fed up with Clanners recently anyway... Without going into the silly amount of people quitting and joining or rejoining clans... I'm not even going to show up for the Playoffs for Season 28 because too many people have left it too long and that time has past, we're pretty much in Season 30 now and haven't even finished the Season 28 Clanner Playoffs.
It's depressingly pathetic that this community can't do something as simple and easy as organize 2 bloody games together over the course of 2-3 months. It's ONE game for Semi Final and ONE game for Final - HOW CAN MOST OF YOU NOT DO SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE??? If you can't play, then simply forfeit and take part in the next Season, making people wait for nothing, it's selfish and makes this entire community look weak, undisciplined and like we don't know wtf we are doing.
Even clans that have LOTS of members... Like STF, just because Kaleu PC broke, the rest of us have had to wait like over a month even though they still had multiple members active.
Quote from: Rocket on May 17, 2024, 07:28 AMNow I see Sbaffo's point clearly when he made MV with 2 ppl in it. For those who are still here and compete actively, this is gold. No players in your team who logged in last time 6 years ago, no players counted as "ghost" teammates cos never play league.
Yeah, I see Sbaffo's point but think it's entirely subjective and VERY unrealistic.
Hands up here who actually enjoys all 12 schemes in the main TUS League:
- Aerial
- Big RR
- BnG
- Elite
- Hysteria
- Intermediate
- Roper
- Shopper
- Team17
- Tower Race
- TTRR
- WxW
And it doesn't matter what your opionion is, Big RR and Tower Race ARE 2 different schemes with 2 different map styles and actual roping styles, you can be good at one and bad at the other, just look at blitzed vs Lupastic. Lupastic easily beats blitzed in Tower Race where he usually doesn't stand a chance in any other roping scheme against blitzed.
There is NO way you can expect just 2 people to both cover AND enjoy all 12 schemes actively and being extremely efficient in all of those schemes. It just doesn't happen, even Sbaffo, who is arguably the best "allrounder" who was active for the past 3-4 months, is easy enough to beat at Artillery schemes for any good artillery player, not even close to being a top player in Strategic schemes...
If the Clanner league was only 3 schemes like it used to be, absolutely, small clans are great! In this day and age, they are, in my opinion, they are bad for multiple reasons:
Availability - Due to only having 2 players they aren't always around to even compete with.
Reliability - This could either be good or bad depending on the players, in most cases it's not very good, even if you have 20 players, WA players are kind of infamously unreliable in organizing games and showing up on time, this kind of goes to every clan I guess but it's even more prone in small clans due to not having the next thing on the list.
Coverage - Doesn't cover as many schemes, so less likely to win anything. Of course it's not impossible to be sufficient in literally everything, but that is VERY rare, and usually doesn't happen.
It's frustrating though, I remember back in early 2000s, clans were like 3-6 members usually, and covered all the schemes together though it was much easier back then to be good at most of the schemes.
Over time though, the more schemes we've added to leagues, you usually see the number of members grow in order to cover all the schemes.
I straight up do everything I can to avoid Team17 and Intermediate, if it was my choice, I'd give out free wins just not to waste my time playing it and focus on what I do enjoy.
Yeah it's all fine and dandy if you're a VERY UNIQUE case like Sbaffo, he's like not even the 1% he's like the 00000.1% of people who are quite happy to play literally any scheme and enjoy it.
On the plus side, there are a lot of good things going in WA right now, but Playoffs is one of the most unorganized, inefficient and unreliable competitive events that exists in WA and I sometimes wonder why we even bother having them because even the format for Playoffs being Bo5 is easily abused and nowhere near optimal anyway.
