That's nothing, Sarge got married.  :'(

I strongly believe the scores should be out of 7.5 if it's going to be 45 seconds.

The maximum fall damage is actually 67 (limited by the worm movement speed limit), you just can't reach speeds high enough for it to happen without something exploding. At least not on a map with a height of only 696 pixels.

:P

You are on, mister. The Mablaks must be defeated.

I don't really fancy my chances, though, you just seem to be able to generate more power at the very beginning and then again at the end, saves you almost a second compared to my better runs. But then it would be awesome seeing another second shaved off our times, can't shake the feeling that if the planets aligned perfectly, I could pull it off somehow. Certainly the final Arch would have to be tight, yes, but I've done the top left pump fly at a bit under 9.50 a few times already...

I don't see anything wrong with that Spike either, incidentally. Even if it was done off the side wall instead of the ceiling, it's still a variation of the same trick, and only harder to pull off. It's the Drive Out that should have gotten you disqualified. :D

His Swoosh looks fine to me, Bulky does it that way too, except he follows it up with the Outlaw immediately. But the order in which the tricks are done doesn't matter, right? If anything, creativity should be welcomed.

I guess this so called Drive Out does however require an attachment to the opposite wall instead of the ceiling at the end, according to NLF. But I wouldn't say it saved Mab that much time; he just did the final part, pump fly and onwards, faster than anyone.

Let's just wait and see what Bulky and Rodent say.

Mwahuhaahahhh. Just you wait, I'll be going for 17.xx tomorrow. 8)

Seriously though, it feels perfectly doable now with a bit of luck, there's really only the initial Skidow start that gives me trouble, the rest of the map just kind of completes itself when you do it at speed. Watching Bulky's replay, the last line of your description for this challenge makes so much sense; once you mess up and break the combo, it's almost impossible to get back into stride.

Oh, that's odd. Probably got garbled somehow when it uploaded, there's nothing wrong with the file itself.

I sent it in again now.

I've only had time to get it down to 18.36 for now. This was actually one of the slower attempts this session; there were a few times when I was attached to the little floating square at 13.xx already, then blew it on the floor bounce or even the Arch. D'oh.

I'll hopefully be able to give it another try tomorrow, but in the mean time... good luck with your exam. :P

Damnation... nice one. >:(

Edit: Actually, never mind this entire post. I'll do it in under 18 seconds, I just need a bit of inspiration!

I held on to that replay and I can tell you when it was made...

... but I also remember playing RR with 90 second turn time and looking at the time that was left on the clock when you finished, so I wouldn't be too quick to pronounce that the official birth date of TTRR, heh. It was version 3.6.19.17 that made the turn counter go up from zero (instead of going nuts) when set to a negative value though, yeah, and that update was released about a month before Deadcode's MI2 tool-assisted run was made.

It's a pretty good estimation of when the current TTRR scheme became more widely accepted, at least. Still, it wasn't a clear-cut transition, and for quite a while a bunch of players still liked the old RR better.

Hey Mads. :-*

Give me a link to where I can find it for $5 then. :)

Here's a double pack with W2 for around that much, a bit more after shipping probably:

Shee, this was ridiculously hard for me, not sure why... :-X

Well, I know the first few tricks at the beginning suffer because of my key lock and the Drive Out suffers because it's not something I would ever do on purpose when roping, but I still thought I'd be more than 5 seconds faster than your run with the fall if I did everything in one combo...

Oh well, getting it right felt good anyway and it didn't actually take me that long (this 19.50 was my first complete run).

Bring it on!
