This is huge news!!! Being able to host any 3.8 scheme with HB now. Should start seeing popularity of new schemes rising and more innovation, more new schemes. Thanks so much for your hard work everybody involved.

Amazing, awesome work, thank you! More fixes than I was expecting. Hope this means Team17's rubber-stamping department is back on track. Perfect timing for some additional holiday worming vigour. Long live WA!

Sounds great - no more Hostingbuddy crashes causing every game to crash at once. Will test. Looking forward to all the staging server changes being made on the regular server.  I guess Team17 has to approve those..

Thanks for your hard work and dedication. Without you and Deadcode this game would have died like 15+ years ago.

5. Play the game & enjoy ''remastered'' WA aka WAR
LOL you just love making abbreviations of things!  :D ::)

Maybe I missed it but does Armageddon offer the 'Using a weapon doesn't end your turn' option? I couldn't seem to find it.
Enter the cheat code in main menu.
"boggysentme" is the code.

You can play color maps in WWP offline if you copy *.jpeg to Import.
Use .BMP, not .jpeg. Jpeg has artifacts and is horrible for worms - you will get stuck on all the pixels.

Schemes / Re: I need help!!!
« on: October 21, 2020, 11:50 PM »
The new schemes don't work with HostingBuddy yet.  Download the scheme and host with the Host button (get WormNAT2 if you can't host using this method).

HostingBuddy has been updated on the test server but hasn't gone live yet for primetime general use. If you want to try it go to advanced options and select "load community list".

Wormkit Modules / Re: wkTerrain
« on: September 25, 2020, 12:40 PM »
Sorry Terion for the late reply (You should really join the discord :P) but I managed to figure out what was happening with my replays.

I've had installed a second version of WA (GOG) to test on and didn't realize it had associated all replays with that version of the game, which didn't have the terrains in its files.
This was the cause of all my replay weirdness and is fixed now, no fault of the module.

To anyone who wants to try the themes available now check out:
https://worms2d.info/WkTerrain
If anyone's wondering, the fix for this is in WA's advanced options. Click "register associations" and un-check "auto register" because that auto-reg setting is global for all WA installs.

General discussion / Re: ProjectX and Steam version of W:A?
« on: September 12, 2020, 03:02 PM »
If nothing happens when you try to load WA with ProjectX installed, you will see in pxlog.txt it says

"Failed to load PX3D library!
Error : The specified module could not be found
Can't load PX3D unit, terminating.."

The solution:  Install these DirectX 9 runtime files from Microsoft.  Also allow it to install NET framework if it asks.

Agreed! Custom terrains make the old default schemes fun and sexy again. I've been enjoying this Windows 95 theme: https://worms2d.info/User:Ducky/Themes

TUS Discussion / Re: Anti-lock in BnG
« on: September 11, 2020, 06:13 AM »
Changes to the engine to prevent discrete aiming steps are possible and have been considered (so no single tap of an arrow key is the same, and counts fractions of a frame/pixels), as well as programmatic rotation of the crosshair graphic.
I think this, combined with auto re-aiming, would be the best solution. BnG to me is about relying on your judgment/intuition, not calculation and counting taps. Notching in all of its forms is lame in my opinion.

See if you can host with websnooper:  https://snoop.wormnet.net/snooper/

I don't think Great Snooper has been updated yet for hosting on 3.8
