It's the same old faces discussing back and forth.

Forums are ancient, TUS should launch facebook, instagram and twitter to attract new players. ;)
I honestly believe the only way to get activity back is to scrap TUS leagues and implement it into the game itself. That won't happen ever so competition is doomed. We still use this ancient league system that no other successful games use. We need real time match making online and not silly reporting on forums/sites. It's 2018 and W:A leagues are still in 2000.

Imagine you could queue up for a league game and then get a pop up when your match is ready, you can browse the internet, play another game etc. even if you wait 30 minutes you don't need to manually spam #ag to find a game. It is just modern, and an easy solution.

I applaud the maintainers to keep W:A updated, but they failed to keep the game modern in terms of finding games. Maybe it's limited by the engine, but that we still have to manually find matches is ridiculous in 2018 for a competitive game.

There should be a lobby where you can arrange games, and there should be buttons that have schemes to select, roper, rr, hysteria etc. you click it and an automated system will pair you up with other players to play a game. That's just how current games work, you may not like it but that's what is killing W:A. Lack of modern match making.

I can hop online in World of Tanks Blitz, select casual or ranked mode and queue up and get a match. Even at night when a lot less people are playing. And that is happening in every single online multiplayer game. W:A needs this feature the most. I would remove replays right now if we could have online match making instead with ranked and casual play. It would actually help the game.

I'm so grateful for growing up during the best era of gaming there will ever be, seeing friends I grew up at school with playing Fortnite makes me cringe so much...

People just follow trends, it's lame as f**k!

I've played 336 hours in DayZ, that was all within about 3-4 weeks as well.

I started playing it earlier this year, then they brought out the newer patch, and I absolutely hate it, I cannot stand the new user interface, I loved it the way it was, minus the double carry bug.

I had the most awesome collection of gear and bases on the server I played on, I was basically a TISY tour guide taking people on loot runs by the end, going on hunting trips, I never even killed a single player, although I stalked so many people to make sure they played fair, could have easily got a few hundred kills if I wanted to, but personally wouldn't ruin someones fun like that.

When I get used to something, and grow to love it, and they change it, pisses me off beyond belief... Sure, improve graphics, fix bugs, but why the f**k did they have to change the user interface? And I used to love reading the little messages that popped up saying "I am thirsty", "I am hungry", "My leg is in pain" etc, just like in real life you talk to yourself in your head when you feel/need things.

Quite a few things I didn't like about the new patch, tbh, but I won't go there.

There are 672 hours in 4 weeks. 336 hours (of gameplay time) is fully half of that time. Do you not have a job or any sort of a life? I'm not trying to sound insulting here but f@#! man. That's 12 hours of game play every single day for a month straight. If what you've said is true you have a problem.

Life is about having fun, if playing video games is your main source of fun you are having a great life. Not everybody loves to follow the normal way of, work, f@#!, have children, retire, die. Your time is so short, nothing you do here has any meaning other than enjoying yourself. You have 70-80 years and that's it, just do what you love and be nice to your fellow humans.

Even if you are an artist, your work will most likely be forgotten sooner than later unless you are the top of a generation like beethoven, michael jackson etc. But most work/art will be forgotten faster than you imagine. And that's artist/celebs, if you are just a normal joe, honestly it doesn't matter what you do. Just have fun.

I dunno, I am still having as much fun with gaming as I used to, and I am literally gaming as much as I can. Like 6+ hours a day. I agree that W:A was a very great time but honestly I like that it's done, it's a great if not the best memory in gaming for me and I will visit this forum as "tribute" to see it's final days. I want to salute to W:A when the server eventually will be shut down and just smile and remember it as part of my youth. I will remember some W:A nicknames of users long forgotten by everyone until the day I die.

I played WarThunder for like a year, and also quite a lot of World of Tanks on steam. It's a fun game but I get annoyed by my teams quite fast and thus can't really enjoy it fully for prolonged time. Need breaks in such games. xD

Currently enjoying the WoW expansion and have subbed to it for 6 months. MH: World I have put on hold because there is no G Rank and the endgame is not really there without G-Rank. I hope they will expand on MH: World to become the full experience that I have enjoyed on 3DS (have 300 hours there).

So the consesus about the league is: It's dead and nothing will change that? xD

Just open the flood gates, anything goes. Playerbase (competitive) too small to limit schemes.

There is no "being behind" anyone. Why do you look at this game as if it was competitive. It's a single player / coop game and you have no incentive to grind faster than others. You play at your own pace and enjoy the game at your own pace. You can gather all the armors and weapons and you are not missing out on anything. It's not a MMO and you try to make it one, that's your problem. I have played MH since the initial release on PS1 and never felt this was anything close to a MMO. The game scales with player amount and is balanced around 20-30 minutes combat time if you are a mediocre player or have outdated armor and weapons, I usually need 5-10 minutes for a monster in early ranks and around 15 minutes in the high ranks depending on the weapon and type of monster. A fast agile monster you should not go at with a slow greatsword or heavy bowgun. Pick the light bowgun and/or longsword/dual blades then. Every monster has a weakness both elements and weaponry as well as weaponry style (slow, fast, ranged/melee). It's trial and error to figure out which weapon type counters which monster the best, though early on you can just use whatever you like since they fall over if you look at them especially in MH World. (prior MH games were a lot harder early on)

So if you can't beat a quest solo then update your weapons, sometimes your favorite weapon is not the best to use against a monster, try a different one and see how that goes. You generally want to master a ranged weapon (use light bowgun or bow since they are mobile and have decent dmg), a slow weapon like hammer or greatsword and a faster mobile weapon like longsword, dual blade or sword and board. If you fight a flight capable monster you are usually better off with a ranged weapon or bring flash bombs to get them out of the sky.

The skill in the game is knowing the attack pattern and weakness of monsters, it's a knowledge based skill game. If you don't believe this game can be skilled then you should watch some youtube videos where people don't even get hit at all and anticipate the movement of a monster perfectly, you should not judge the game with your little knowledge that you have and ask for advice before making assumptions. :)

In short, what I'm saying is that your current self should be capable of doing anything your past self was capable of and then some. This isn't like a physical sport where age plays a factor in declining ability.

No, this is what you said, less than 4 hours ago:

Quote from: skunk3 on August 05, 2018, 10:20 PM
You say that but what is more likely is that you felt more confident at rope back then because of your skill relative to that of other players.

Telling me I can be as good as I used to be, and that my mind and feelings are pretty much f**king useless are 2 completely different things.

And actually, age can decline, i've cracked my knuckles my whole life and just like my Mum told me as a little boy, I shouldn't have, for one...

I can't tap as good with my left hand as I used to, it hurts and seizes up, I used to be almost as good with my left as I am with my right, now it's not, which is why i'm so excited about learning cross now I don't have to actually cross my arms over.

What Komo writes is true. Also, nobody here kept playing the same scheme for 15+ years and we all took breaks and whatnot. 10 years ago my former self would absolutely demolish me in anything roping related because at that point I was playing W:A 24/7. Just because this game is not physical does not mean you do not decline over the time if you stop caring and put passion in. Being good at something is not just your body, it's your mindset as well and frankly my mindset back then was "I wanna be the best there ever was" and now it's "who cares game is dead". So naturally my former self will just laugh and show me why he is better while I will accept that he's better since my drive to be better than him would be gone.

So that was December 2000, wow...

I remember the day I discovered Worms Armageddon, it was also the first time I used a PC for games and discovered the internet, 12-17th June 1999...(Forget exact day now)

I remember that day clearly, with my mates John and Gary, it was hot, we were in shorts and t-shirts, my friend John told us about the "Interesk Cyber Cafe", I was like woah that sounds cool, so he took us there and I remember walking in just feeling this overwhelming sense of WOW!

So I walked up the corridor which had 5 computers, the 1st guy was playing Diablo, the next guy was playing Command & Conquer, then the guy who works there, Alex, was on the 3rd computer playing Worms and my eyes lit up, I was like "Hey, I have that on my Game Boy!", and since he was a like a youth worker he took interest and asked if I wanted to play so I took a seat and he joined a game in #AnythingGoes, at that point I was like, "Wait, are you playing this with other people??" he was like yeah, that guy is from UK, that guy is from US...

THAT! Blew my mind! So we started the game, I think it was Intermediate scheme or something, cuz we had special weapons and I had HHG, I actually won that game with the last move and took everyone out with the HHG! I was absolutely hooked, so I spent the whole summer at that cafe playing Worms for like 2-3 hours a day, it was a matter of weeks before I discovered Roper when I say "eliteboyz" who later became "TheSheriFF" roping, he wasn't the rope god he eventually became at that point but he was pretty good I remember feeling like it was the most awesome f@#!ing thing I ever saw in my life!

So yeah I started getting involved in Ropers then within days played my first Warmer, few months later I joined a clan but honestly forget which, or maybe that is when I made BDD - Bringers of Death and Destruction, Dodgefreak was in that clan with me, so was avatar and a few other pretty good players, I actually forget who was in that clan now...

So yeah I saw a lot of Elites and BnG being played in the Clanners I played/watched, but I never ever saw any other scheme being picked until around 2002+

Probably because I exclusively stuck to Rope for the first 4-5 years then switched exclusively to BnG until a few years into TuS where I started Roping again, but ever since I started playing BnG, i've never been as good in Rope as I was back then, i'm hoping to become even better than I was back then roping cross handed, but honestly I was doing a TT Big RR with blitz last night for like 6 hours straight and I only finished the map once, at my furthest point I was faster than blitz but honestly most turns I couldn't even last 20-30 seconds and I feel quite depressed I can't do it like I used to, but, it has only been about 6 weeks in total i've roped this way and it's a lot of fun, I forget it took almost 2 years to reach my peak when I first started so need to give my body time to adjust to swapping hands.

This is definitely interesting though, amazing to still learn history even having been there almost the entire time :)

I would love to time-travel back for one day and relive the experience back then. I think it would be awesome. Especially with all the knowledge you have now. :D

I can confirm Forts, I played that shit in leagues back then. It was very niche, similar to Pro and died out around 2002/3 in league environment. Sometimes people would pick and be surprised it was still officially supported lol. RR I actually don't remember in early leagues that much but that's probably because I didn't start to play RR until they introduced TTRR. I didn't really like the 30s/45s RR that much.

This is the kind of stuff that is missing from W:A. People competing who is better, bonus points that it's about roping. If more people show that passion it might reignite my desire to play again. I am always lurking and following.

A lot of people also aren't used to this kind of system anymore. Only a small portion plays for stuff like ESL or other gaming leagues outside the actual game. 'Ranked' play to some degree exists in nearly every game out there.
Plus, Worms has all these different schemes, which makes it a hassle to understand and master competition. I mean, which players play Elite or Roper nowadays? Zero to none outside of Tus.

Good point, all the MP games have automatic match-making where you can play ranked without the hassle of a third party site. Sure there are 3rd party leagues for all the games but the majority play ranked in the game itself. The BEST patch would be an automatic match-making that let's you grind ranks online but that won't happen so in my opinion W:A will never get as competitive as it used to be no matter if you change the schemes or league structure.

For that to work we'd need a competition bureau/monopoly-busting taskforce to avoid letting the best players all form into a single clan. That was what killed regular clanners.

That is actually just a consequence of lack of players. Obviously similar skilled players want to band together and that is usually no problem if the playerbase is healthy. But it is not, so 10 good players is already half or more of the active good players in a scheme. Some years ago there was no such thing as too many good players in a clan, most clans had a handful of very skilled players to relay on. Sure, TdC had phases with too many players overall but there were plenty of clans to play with.
#148
Which features are already done and which are unfinished? I hardly see an influx of players because of a patch/update unless it's totally game changing.
#149
Yeah this is pretty much the first time everyone backs up Komo. If that happens you know you have messed up. xD

What a loser, and to name him in the same breath as Mablak or random. Hahahahaha...

Anubis, for f*ck sake. You sum up the cancer that this community has become. I am not here to entertain apes like you. I wanted to have a proper fight and proper bet. I agreed to put my own money on it. I am not here to be made a parody of by the streamer and when I refused to be nice, be called "a f@#!ing child", hearing I won't have my game streamed.

Insulting somebody won't make a person be more willing to be in your company and certainly it won't make this person risk 40$ for... for what? to prove something to you? some of you, guys, are animals. It's just not worth it.

The only animal is you, Zalo. You are blinded by your own ego it's not even funny anymore. You are indeed a loser. I am glad you don't get any attention from other people and they refuse sharing passion for the game with you. Just a reminder what you posted:

Mole is the most strategy & tactical based game, just like chess. Everybody who doesn't enjoy it is simply a sub-human. Unless you play on a resolution higher than 1366x768. If so, then I feel sorry for you, cuz you probably suck at jumping from pixel to pixel. Streamed 1920x1080 looks like sh*t.

Never has anyone in W:A history that is at the top of a scheme claimed that anyone that doesn't enjoy it is sub-human. I never did in warmer, Komo never did in BnG, dibz never did for roper, Mablak never did for TTRR, statik/sir j (lol) never did, sbaffo never did etc. You are not part of W:A legends, you will not be remembered. So, please, never talk about others that talk bad about you, you are by far the worst offender in quite some time.
