Quote from: j0e on November 06, 2013, 04:33 AMIf you could somehow click outside the other frontend windows, such as the Host/Join lobby (if the mouse wasn't bounded inside the window), would the same non-minimizing behaviour occur?
yes, why not? it's all the same frontend.

Quote from: j0e on November 06, 2013, 04:33 AMthe mouse is not bounded inside the window
if you're using a centered/customsized frontend, being able to click outside in the first main screen is a BUG, you shouldnt be able to do that but I don't know how to fix it.

when RunInBackground is active, switching to another window will mean W:A has lost its focus, and will still produce the flashing on join on taskbar even though it is visible on the screen. This is what RunInBackground is about.

if you're using a centered/custom-sized frontend you may use Alt+Tab to switch between windows. It is kinda pointless for a Ctrl+G there because we already have the game's cursor. Unhiding the Windows cursor in those modes would produce lots of confusion as it would be in a wrong position. maybe I could add a teleport-like feature so it would result near the expected graphical's window edge, however to me it seems like a huge crutch and not really worth dealing with yet another frontend issue caused by Team17's design.

Quote from: SpideR on November 05, 2013, 03:21 PMI wasn't able to install W:A in Win8 cause of it's oldie installwizard which was never starting.
this is a very common problem and the solution is very simple: on the CD, navigate to Install\Install.exe and run it instead of the default Setup.exe. Simple as that, but not everyone remembers that

Quote from: SpideR on November 05, 2013, 03:21 PMMaybe finding a fast server with enough bandwitch, which could be a torrent powered by ourselves, with a .ZIP of a ghost copy of W:A could be an easy way to "download'n play".
it would still be illegal :( people should just get the Humble Bundle now while it lasts.

Quote from: SpideR on November 05, 2013, 03:21 PMQuestion for the computar pros: will it work in any OS? What about the MAC?
Installing WA on Mac OS X.

Related to that, I have also seen an astonishingly simple technique to install run WA on Linux (by only using 1 command in the terminal, without doing anything else), but sadly that method is illegal. If only something like that could be made automated for the legal copies...

Awesome job steps. Steam compatible! Just a suggestion: include some quick instructions in the archive, and use .ZIP instead of .RAR - to make it more noob accessible!

I'm noticing a big surge of new players from the weekend $1 sale. More are likely to stick around if they can figure out how to use this program.
my usual practice is to use RAR for Windows-only designed modules, but I may do it zip as well, good idea. however zip is 16 kB bigger here. link added.

meanwhile I'm working on a little update that will also add DPI-awareness to the game, but I need to finish some stuff first. maybe any feature ideas regarding to the window?

you better use directdraw in wine
What the difference ? imo, all modes must work well
not so sure about d3d9, Muzer tried once and there were the epicest graphic artifacts ever, whole screen filled with pixel mess

most wormkit modules should work fine and they can be loaded automatically by wa 3.7.2.1.

A small update (1.3.2.1) released.

This one will be especially useful to Windows 8.1 users who are using a DPI scaling other than 100% or 125% (for previous systems, "Use Windows XP style scaling" setting would help). Due to the new Microsoft policy, non-dpi-aware apps are blurry now if you aren't using 100% or 125%. In case of WWP this disrupted the interface, cutting the bottom right of the screen, and was mentioned by an user here before.

Now the fix will make WWP dpi-aware so you will run the game normally just as if there were no dpi settings at all, without problems, and the FAQ entry about this problem will not be needed anymore.

PS. Note to WA people: the same fix will soon come to wkD3D9Wnd, I just need to finish up some other features yet.

thats pretty cool, but you could even edit the PAL files so that the menus match your own palette instead of you having to rely on the built in :p

Thats exactly what I did in this nlF one steps. Just started to look into the palettes, so this was only more like a test.
I see  :P

you can compile wheat for your linux install, yes.
but may also use an IRC client if you know the wormnet's password.

...or simply use Tweaks\ResetRegistryOptions.reg

.reg files doesnt work on linux
they do, if you assign an appropriate file association, which is quite easy

I suck discussing about technology :P you win... btw how do you do that? right click>run as executable?
I think you can just use in console

wine regedit.exe "...\ResetRegistryOptions.reg"

instead of "..." is the full path to your Tweaks folder in wine

other than that I'm not really sure, never used wine, but there are certainly ways to associate it to be accessible just via a click.
