TUS Discussion / Re: Simple new rule update.
November 04, 2016, 09:06 AM
Yes, it is easy to create a low sized big map with 80:29 ratio if you use drastically less colors on your map. For example, maybe not a big map but stilstill Shiny Stuff darts map had 12 or 16 colors in total. 'cause of that it's only 8.62kb

https://www.tus-wa.com/maps/map-10813/

Similiar thing should be doable for bigger maps.

Somebody show me an abnormal map with a standard thumbnail preview. That will give this discussion a direction.
1920x696 = 80.24 x 29.24

Any map with 80:29 ratio will look like standard thumbnail size?

PS: Just tell WA devs to add map size number preview on upcoming 3.8 update.

Thanks for the fast respond. Yeah indeed having more quantity on Boom and Golf would be nice.

Nice map. Can someone link me to its map page or its author?

Asked the guy if he wanted SSD in pm, agreed on HDD because space he needs.
Everyone should have a SSD this day in age, unable to understand why a build wouldnt include it from a standpoint of cost to performance ratio, not worth it to upgrade processor and neglect to get a SSD.
I agree. There are SSD for every kind of budget. For example look at this little fella:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/34Nypg/crucial-mx300-525gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-ct525mx300ssd4

Maybe doesn't have as quality as its Samsung or Intel counterparts but it's cheap, 525gb and really small with no cables to worry about.

Speaking of small components I realized I never shared a ITX build so here you go:

1050$ USA Newegg USA Bang for buck build. I was trying different builds and come up with this. Currently it's a great performance per buck. And all from a single shop!

Edit: Squeezed a GTX 1070 by changing CPU to i5-6500 from i5-6600k, removing custom CPU cooler and lowering SSD size from 750GB to 525GB. Now it's truly bang for buck.

500€ is a tight budget for monitor included so had to a little over. But still it's much cheaper than that laptop.

What if a worm was shot with a zook and has no land under him? He'd have to fall anyway... Even shotgun creates small holes, how you gonna apply "damage doesn't affect momentum" there?
İndestructible map. Imagine there's a maze like big shopper map. 1 bazooka crate drop every 5-10 seconds. You rope around and so your opponent. It is like ZaR maybe but in real time. Of course it would be bad if you lost control after got hit. So if you lost hp but not momentum it would be good.

Quote from: WTF-8 on October 17, 2016, 08:47 AM
Not to mention sliding and all that stuff, we'd basically have to live without many cool combos where one worm knocks another one.
How would you control more than one worm in real time? Unless it's 3v3 with 6 players.

Of course there can be options for real time mode. No lose of momentum/control, forced delay between shots (2-5 secs) to prevent weapon spamming if there's an infinite weapon, it can also add a tactical insight. It is a new concept so we'll have to put more thoughts if it ever will introduced in 4.0

Real time non racing schemes can be transited with implementing something like damage doesn't effect momentum of worms. With something like that you can play Roper + Arena fighter. Surely people will show more interest to real time racing at the first time but people won't turn their back against good ol' turn based schemes where you can sip your coffee between turns.

You can also get a better but second hand gpu for same price. Since new GFX generation came out, people started selling their old hardwares. You can even get used i5.Haswell cpu for same price of that i3. Used parts are good for budget builds.
