Damn some of those names are a blast from the past.

W:A from 99-05 was the f@#!ing best gaming experience ever. Not even the glory days of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras were as good IMHO. W:A was the first online game that I really got sucked into and it is crazy to think that I spent countless hours playing games with people who I will never talk to again. It's a really melancholic feeling TBH and I kinda don't like to think about it because it's too sad. :/

I guess this applies to just about any scheme, really.

Is it 'legal' per se to use that glitch where you can basically drop a zook right on someone's head and it won't go off for a few seconds? My ruling is no, and I don't see why anyone WOULD allow it. It's clearly a glitch and not intended behavior, so why would it be okay to do? I got into an argument with some noob earlier about this and he insisted that it wasn't against the rules. Well, as we all know, the rules are arbitrary inventions made by us and aside from one girder-based scheme from long ago, I can't remember exploiting glitches as being NOT against the rules.

What say you?

I'd be up for playing if this is actually gonna happen.

This is my life already somewhat. Due to my allergies, infections are prone to getting stuck in my sinus for a long time. I've had the same recurring sinus/ear infection since Oct 2018, plus a nasty virus that went around here in Sep 2019 which I don't think I got rid of 100%. My parents had to cancel a holiday because of that last one. I dunno if it was a coronavirus strain. It didn't get to my lungs but it did affect my Dad's a bit. Double at least. I too have allergies and occasional sinus issues, but never anything like this. I'll also say that even though I've been better for weeks now, I still find myself needing to clear my throat all of the time. Even though I'm a smoker, I've never had a smoker's cough or anything like that. This only happened after I got over the infection. It's really annoying. It's not a cough; more like a very frequent need to clear my lower sinus/upper throat.

I will also note that my mucus/snot/whatever you wanna call it was kind of a bright yellow color. Normally it's fairly clear, even with allergies. (I do get wrecked by seasonal allergies, especially in late summer.) Any time my mucus is yellow like that, I know it's an infection. The post-nasal drip was NON-STOP. I was spitting it out at first but eventually it got to be too much work so I just started snorting and swallowing it. Sounds gross, I know, but you wouldn't believe the amount of mucus production that was going on. It was obscene.

I felt kinda crappy for a few weeks before I got REALLY sick. The tickling in my throat and persistent cough were really annoying, but when it kicked in for real it was pretty miserable. Also, I could blow my nose 20 times until it is completely clear AND then do a saline rinse and it didn't matter... 3 minutes later I am completely clogged up again with snot coming out of my nostrils and down the back of my throat. It was relentless.

I have to leave for work soon so I will keep this as brief as possible. I just wanted to give you guys a checklist of symptoms that I felt while I was sick. (2 weeks.)

-started with an itchy, dry throat and urge to cough a lot
-some sneezing
-once it fully kicked in I had major fatigue and body aches
-fever and chills
-massive phlegm production in lungs and sinuses (SO MUCH)
-frequent / forceful coughing and could barely sleep for more than a few hours at a time due to coughing
-wheezing/crackling when breathing
-could not breathe out of my nose
-major sinus pressure/pain radiating from the center of my face out to my ear canals, just above my eyebrows, and even pain spreading to upper jaws... so much pressure that I could lightly press on my skin below my eyes and feel what felt like a system of balloons in my face expanding and squeezing
-lost sense of smell + taste for a week
-headache
-symptoms would come and go... what I mean is that one day you'll feel much better than the day before, then the day after that you feel like complete shit again

All in all it was kinda like having the flu + a bad sinus infection at the same time. 0/10 would not recommend.

Personally, I do not consider the "ZaR" versions of schemes to be superior, just different. Sometimes it's nice to switch it up, but would I want to play ZaR roper / rr every single time? Hell no.

NOBODY in the history of Worms made me laugh harder than Fizix though. He was a Canadian dude and last time I talked to him he was talking about going to school for recording music or something like that. We played a lot and then one day he just stopped playing and I never heard from him again. This was before social media and AIM is done for. 

I don't understand the point of reissuing a game that is still being sold in digital form.

As far as the 3.8 update goes, I doubt that it will ever see a release because as CS said, it's been more or less finished for a very long time now. The fact that it has not been released indicates to me that there is some sort of deeper issue, and being completely in the dark about it is annoying. I'd be totally fine with the update never coming out if DC would just straight-up tell us.

I know that a lot of people are Team17 haters and are not fans of the newer Worms titles, but personally what I am hoping for is a new Worms game. WMD has been out for some time now and it could have been a truly awesome game if Team17 had just put a little more time / development into it and also had a closed beta for feedback. It's not a bad game at all; it just needed more polish. It was definitely a step in the right direction though, getting the series back to 2D, 6 players, a ninja rope more like W:A's (but still far off), etc. WMD is the first Worms game since WWP that doesn't feel like it was made for consoles.

Moving forward I'd like to see Team17 release a new game that stays in 2D, has a *proper* chat lobby system from launch, a proper ranking system with multiple ranked schemes AND clan implementation, a ranking system that doesn't reward grinding so much as getting wins vs. good players, increasing maximum player count to 8 and also adding spectator seats, easy streaming integration, vastly more unlocked/unlimited scheme editing potential (we should be able to edit anything and everything we want), get rid of the crafting system and vehicles, keep buildings, bring back water, include all legacy weapons and utilities (except for ones that are too redundant), detailed stat tracking like we had in Clan Wars, bring back 'physics objects', and introduce new gameplay elements like smoke, different surface types (sticky, slippery, etc), improve the ninja rope and make it as close to W:A as possible, introduce objects that continually pump out some sort of 'liquid'  like water, lava, etc. Of course when water and lava come into contact with each other it turns into fresh terrain. I think it'd be cool to have Angry Birds-esque stage elements that can topple over. I'd like to see wooden objects that can catch on fire and will burn completely... and when the smoke is in the way you can't see outside of the smoke. I'd like to see wood and other objects that can float in water. I'd like to see bouncy surfaces like trampolines.. pinball bumpers that kick worms around.. a wormhole item that connects 2 points of the map and lets you travel freely between the two points.. etc etc. I basically want to see a rock solid 2D Worms game that has all of the best elements from the past with highly refined gameplay mechanics and interesting new features that enhance the gameplay.

It seems to me that the only time of day that has anything approaching decent activity is morning to early afternoon my time, which is roughly early afternoon to evening for much of Europe. I just hopped on WormNET to see if someone wanted to play some games and there was only one other person online, not including snoopers. It's sad. Most of the times that I want to / can play are times where it's mostly just Russians still awake. :/

I've been playing a decent amount of WMD lately not because I think it is superior but because I can actually find games lol

I use Windows 10 and it works fine. It definitely does hog more resources than older versions but I have a slightly more capable PC these days. Personally I think that Windows XP was the greatest.

If you just want to play W:A, yes.

If you want an active singles / clanner league don't waste your time.

W:A is still the best game of all time but the activity is very low these days with the vast majority of players online at any given time being random noobs. You can find good games here and there but it just depends on your luck and what time of day you get online. It's not like the golden era of Worms.

That doesn't make WA dead, it's still flourishing.

To call W:A 'flourishing' is a joke. W:A is all but dead bro. The activity is so low at many times of the day. The vast majority of people online are snoopers, bots, and a small amount of random noobs. It's nothing like back in the day.

Obviously W:A is not TOTALLY dead but let's be real... it's on life support and has been for quite some time.
