so best available is 23gmt-5gmt weekdays or 15gmt-5gmt weekends

Let's play on Sunday then, starting at anything between 15-22gmt is fine with me.

Chuvash, does 16-21GMT weekdays work for you? Preferably, I could do 16-23GMT on the weekend (if I'm home), but I could always stretch it a little.

Lol, taner is -602 in overall. :D Keep at it, you'll hit the bottom 10 soon!

- Cows with a 2 turn delay added. Regular power.

Reason: After many games - I don't want to compromise the fun and limit the strategy, and if that means a slight balance decrease, so be it. 2 turn delay seems to be fair.
Note that this is probably the final version of this scheme that will be used in the upcoming cup, so please update it.

TUS Discussion / Re: Official TUS cups
May 08, 2013, 06:44 AM
I also don't think that finding mods and/or handling the whole thing would be a problem. There's a bunch of schemes in free league that deserve recognition, but obviously people could apply to get their schemes promoted etc. Something along the lines what WSC http://wsc.wmdb.org/ tried to do at one point, but with a more direct approach. But again, this is merely a secondary idea.

First thing to do would be to get the ball rolling with the official cups (classic schemes) and ranking. I honestly can't see a single downside to it.

TUS Discussion / Official TUS cups
May 07, 2013, 03:31 AM
So here's the thing - we're not taking advantage of the home page, cups and tourneys' potential at all. But let's start with the cups and what they're truly missing. My idea:
TUS official cups:
- promoted on the home page,
- highlighted on the cup list,
- trustworthy and strict moderators,
- separate TUS cup ranking to boost their importance,
- scheme rotation every 2 months,
- hall of glory listing previous winners,
- fancy medals, etc.

Seriously, why aren't they a thing yet? Our community loves competition and right now winning a cup is completely insignificant, unprestigious and forgotten after a week. Wasted potential.

Remember that not everyone reads forums and majority of those who do just skims through it. Right column on the home page is designated to promote smaller things and it's working extremely well. (a recent example would be this game: https://www.tus-wa.com/cups/game-140785/ which got +200 downloads solely because of the home page) So we should stick to this kind of marketing, since it's obviously doing its job.
------------------

Consider the following part separately: So my idea would be to have 2 official TUS cups running simultaneously, every 2 (3?) months. One for the classic schemes and one for less popular ones, (with an in-depth explanation of the scheme) both of which would count into the same ranking, encouraging people to try new schemes.
I agree with Dulek in the other thread and I think that TRL should focus on popular schemes, since it doesn't actually promote anything else (just take a look at kaos/inter seasons)

tl;dr Stamp some of the cups with a big fat TUS logo.

Promotion Project / Re: Steam Groups

I think he has a point, there are lots of clueless steam players. But then again, I don't think directing them to tus would do anything besides confusing them; wasn't someone working on a special welcome/newbie page for this very reason?

i wasnt so much of a fan of GTA 4 as I was San Andreas because of the variable terrain and wide variety of drivable vehicles.  looks like there is going to be a lot of San Andreas-like sandbox design in this installment.

Yup, this is exactly like me, and I presume a lot of gamers. I never really cared about gtaIV, it was fun, sure, but in the long run it felt like something was missing. From the trailer it seems like Micheal is a Vice City tribute, Franklin - San Andreas and Trevor is something fresh to add to the pot.

All you had to do was follow the damn train, CJ.

We can do a cup with the script! Maybe it doesn't even change anything and is just a convenient script for top tier ropers that have the timing right anyway and it just reduces hardware mistakes. But it certainly is a big help for ppl that are new to fingerroll, no doubt.

Top tier ropers don't fingerroll. Only noobs who couldn't hack it with one finger do.

That's like saying people that use both feet to jump in basketball (because you can jump higher with it than with 1 foot) are worse than people that only jump with 1 foot.

Oh man, we're not even halfway through 2013, and there's already a front-runner in the worst analogy competition. You take the cake. :D
