The cup is now over and the final was not played. I do not fault Kalue and Walrus they tried. I have chosen to proceed Kalue as winner of this cup. If you do not like this, be more vigilant next time.

Can't we just play the final? I showed up at the agreed time yesterday, Kaleu couldn't because of circumstances beyond his control. I don't see the harm in actually playing the game? I was looking forward to playing Kaleu here. Was 5-0 in hysteria cup finals, this is a really lame way to "lose." If not, can mods please remove my medal I was "awarded." I could see this decision if I didn't make an efort to play the game, but that clearly isn't the case here.

Don't worry, if there is not a valid enough reason, this decision can be reveresed and dealt with more appropriately.

Probably because he played his semifinal match earlier. Kaleu is willing to play me today but Kradie has his own agenda I think. To be fair, Kaleu couldnt play because of circumstance outside his control, lightning storm near his house. I believe he would have showed up if he could. If the decision was reversed, I still wouldn't like it, it wouldn't be fair to Kaleu. I don't want the gold medal or the silver medal from this, just want to play the final of the cup.

It isn't fun for me neither. I didn't even like to have to have done this. But deadline is deadline and there is going to be reprucussions. There is going to be unhappy people. We can remove gold and silver no problem but I won't accepst games played after deadline. Sounds extremely unfair right? Well it is life. You can't send in exam paper after deadline and get a result. The truth is, sometime things are out of control and we must face and accept it and move on.

If games would be played after deadline what would be the point?

If someone can convince me with unbiased arguments I can be open for consideration.

If I sound strict well that's because I am. Finals are VERY Important thing.

Why would i have an agenda? I like both you and Kalue, i got no quarrels with you two. In fact, my decisive action has probably hurt me more. So how does me having an agenda even benefit me? It doesn't make sense. This is a matter of principle. You had a deadline to follow, you both did, and things happened. That's it.

Kradie, I understand and sympathize with your desire for strict deadlines.

I would also argue that I'm more personally bothered than anyone else in the history of this game for being let down when people don't show up, play their games on time, or even make an effort.

It's frustrating beyond belief when people don't make an effort or prioritize their matches.

It's completely different when there are mitigating circumstances though, such as this.

You are within your rights as the Cup moderator to end it, however you have given the medal to the wrong person.

The Final is a separate match, Walrus showed up, Kaleu didn't.

There are 3 suitable options:

Extend the deadline and let them play their match tonight.
Reverse the decision so nobody gets a medal and just close the Cup.
Give thewalrus the Gold medal as he's the one who showed up.

Just to be clear, I do not want and will not accept the gold medal if no game is played. Kaleu and I plan to play the final tonight. The rest is up to Kradie.

So Kradie has decided to give no medals to 1st and 2nd.

Though, you guys should still play tonight and post it somewhere so we know who the real winner was!

I'd like to stream but I don't think Kaleu would like that.

I can understand that frustration Billy, though I understand and empathize with the frustration of TheWalrus more.

The most important aspect of recorded statistics in competitive events for me personally is, the truth!

Getting medals you didn't earn or deserve, or having losses on your record that you didn't actually lose, is absurd! Or aliases messing up ranking or any other nonsense...

I'm hoping MonkeyIsland can introduce something that gives players the option to forfeit from the stage they are at exit, without having a loss show up on their win % record.

There is a difference between losing an actual match, and not playing an actual match. There should be something to reflect that more accurately.
