these "telecow" and "jetcow" unique rules reminds me when others said that you shouldn't take tophide in roper cuz it makes u a noob oO : D

no sense.. its natural part of the scheme. u could consider it as playing smart at one point of the match

At first it seemed to me that they were playing for fun here, but such vile tricks like telecow break the fun and spoil the mood

It seems to me that I am beginning to understand why many players play normal, kaos, shopper, where such techniques are unlikely. maybe I should throw all the cups away and play like everyone else? and leave your f@#!ing telecows to you so that you are left alone with it

telecows balance the scheme, otherwise it would be an unsuitable league scheme, game 1 was a perfect example, i lose 3 worms in first 3 turns or so because of positions.  autolose win condition because of placements without telecow.  telecow actually gives me a chance.  scheme would need to drastically change to make it good without telecow, and there is no clear solution.

For me selecsteria is a fine solution. I don't see much problem with it.

It never ceases to amaze me, and make me laugh, hearing ANYONE use the quite literally stupid term, "telecow"...

This is about the 100th time I've said this but it never gets boring! :D

The word "cow" is used when a player breaks a rule in Worms Armageddon, since Hysteria has NO RULES it is quite literally impossible to cow, therefore using the term "telecow" is redundant and a complete waste of time.

I'm not quite sure you caught that so once again...

Hysteria has NO RULES it is quite literally impossible to cow

impossible to cow!!!!

Now, back to reality...

Like TheWalrus said, this version of Hysteria is the best if you want a skill based and balanced scheme.

If you want to play a scheme which is HEAVILY luck based, then you may proceed to play Hysteria with  "House Rules" which you can find in the "Rules" section here:

https://worms2d.info/Hysteria

Keep in mind, playing with House Rules is a variant of Hysteria usually played by lesser skilled players and/or beginner players who may or may not enjoy luck based schemes over skill based schemes.

Also, for those who complain about piling being a "lame tactic" which takes away from "just shooting", you have schemes like BnG and Grenade Wars to quench that thirst.

Though keep in mind, House Rules are for casual funners, not League matches.

if you cant see the problem with random placements in correlation with worm select on competitive balance, then there is no dialogue to be had at all here.

please enlighten me, what was the problem with classic league hysteria, and how did selectsteria solve it?

I checked the downloaded scheme for this cup and it is the [TUS] Hysteria version. In TUS league hysteria version, there are no rules. Never have been.

If you want to play a friendly game of hysteria without kills from teleport with low hp or teleporting for advantage piles. I would suggest playing a friendly game of Hysteria.

Otherwise it gets to convoluted.

If you want to play a cup of Selecsteria. Then host one.

Selecsteria can not be a solution to a Hysteria scheme, simply because the Hysteria scheme already exists.

a lot of you came running here with comments...

In fact, I continue to play and join the cups that I like, but at the same time I make too many mistakes when I do this.

I like hysteria, but in the format that is played in public games - without a telecow, and also when I played in the group round.

Telecow is a sneaky move that has no justification.
And only the player himself chooses whether to do so or not.
I will never play using telecow. This is a sneaky move.
And if my opinion does not coincide with yours, perhaps I really should leave the cups, because things like telecow ruin the fun and mood.

Although many people told me that playing on TUS is a fun thing, I see it from some players that this is not so.

I guess I'll finish the WoF Cup and finish the game here, on TUS.
For me, ordinary players are closer and simpler in relation to the game.
Even if many will be quitters, it is easier to understand than when they cheat in cups

Peace.

I'm not saying to overlap or substitute Hysteria by Selecsteria.

I'm saying that Hysteria is already a main scheme of the game that never had rules and works as a mixture of artillery scheme with some elements of conventional gameplay schemes, such as exploitation, control, or manipulation (like Komito calls) of the worm order/rotation. I love Hysteria and when I play Hysteria I always play without rules and I teleport next to the other Worms. By the way, I said many times that Run is a genius, and I will say this again.

But, I understand the people that complain about the Teleporting/jet packing tactic. If the idea is to play Hysteria with full focus on artillery, that trick is not so interesting for gameplay. So, Selecsteria is a nice alternative version for those who don't like the so called "telecow".

Both versions of the scheme can exist in competitive play. This is the solution I meant.

Worm placements is a problem in most schemes. But if this is really a big issue in Selecsteria, manual placement can be added to the scheme file. Remember: Selecsteria has no rules too. And Kaleu was not the first person to use worm select in Hysteria, this was done by many players before the release of 3.8 that has a feature that makes worm select be used during hot-seat time.

Worm rotation manipulation will always be an issue for some people. Accept this. When these things happen players create rules, like in BnG: there are reaim, no sitting nades, no direct shots, etc. These were tactics if you play BnG without rules, but then the norm became to play BnG with house rules.

Once you've mastered artillery, you're an artillery schemes player. And once you've mastered artillery + jet/tele, you're  a competitive artillery player.
As fun isn't the same for all wormers. For smb it's hitting 10/10 shots, and for others it's outplaying by outsmarting.  Can't help but lolling at this discussion. Let's raise the topic of finger rolling and 4 sec nades full powa as illegal stuff, no? What about laser sight?
The game gives you all the opportunities for fun. Decide what you like and go for it. If you want to separate with your gaming preferences, go for it. Just go for what you think is right. Nobody's here to convince anybody

Lool Lancelot. I didn't know you were this new to TUS o0
In any case, it's a valid frustration. You just can't get any worse than the players who complain about Petrols being used all the time, these people are unbearable. :D
