Ppl shall use random map picker before the game instead of having it chosen already. Especially with so many players joining this cup. 100-200 darts maps out there, kinda lame to use only 10-15 of them (round stage/ko's/finals) and give ppl chance to practise it.

100-200 darts maps out there, kinda lame to use only 10-15 of them (round stage/ko's/finals) and give ppl chance to practise it.

1st off, make sure to state "imo", don't try to pass this off as a fact because it's definitely not true as a fact.

2nd, realizing it's an opinion, WHY is it lame? Please elaborate, don't just say "it's lame" without explaining why, because that IS lame.

Now onto my opinion:

This is a Cup to be the winners, I have no problem with people joining "just for fun", but if they are playing just for fun, keep in mind this is a competitive League so don't start giving your opinion on how it should be run when points/standings are involved.

Now, in the spirit of competition using map picker turns this more into a fun event for people who don't care about the scheme rather than a skilled competitive event for enthusiasts.

If you want to play Darts "just for fun", then go and host one with the luck based /  poorly designed maps, or just go and meet some friends and play some unofficial games and enjoy that instead, please don't ruin the potential of skill that can exist in Darts.

Now for facts:

You cannot compare Darts to something like TTRR/Roper, because it's completely different, in TTRR once you know how to rope you can use that for any map because all maps are essentially the same, while Darts maps are so incredibly different you can be awesome at 10% of them and suck at the rest, for this reason using the picker for this event is a poor choice for an official competitive event in a League.

Posting the maps a few weeks in advance gives everyone an equal chance, because if you play to win, you all have an equal chance to practise, if you play for fun, you don't have to practise so what's the problem anyway because you obviously don't care about winning?

And this is probably the most important fact, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS:

Anyone who hasn't played Darts has a chance to learn the map and it's unique rules so they don't waste time when the actual Cup begins, it's more practical for someone to learn the rules and style of 5 maps than it is to try and learn all 100+ possible picks, which is why picker should be kept for practise/funners/dS Tours.

One other thing, IF for some silly reason you decide to make it mandatory to use picker, you should also make it mandatory to give all players the option to have some practise shots before each game begins, just like in real Darts ;)

Real Darts or WA Darts?

You don't have different dartboards in real darts!!

Yes you do, go do some research, some different sizes of trebles/doubles depending on what event, such as PBC WBC

PBC has slightly larger areas, there are plastic dartsboards, sticky dartboards such as velcro etc.

The Yorkshire board doesn't have any Trebles, and no outer ring to the bullseye.

^^ This coming from my Dad, an ex professional Darts player.

Darts scheme would be boring with just same map for eternity lol, kinda like W2 BnG got boring with that map with the Cups.

Variety of maps in WA Darts is good, but too much variety kills skills.

Ok ty for hair splitting ;D Should u at least standardize the "throw"? 4 of 5 maps in this cup are kinda similar (you bounce from the wall and the worm flies straight to the board). #stupidquestions

Ok ty for hair splitting ;D Should u at least standardize the "throwing" technique? 4 of 5 maps in this cup are kinda similar (you bounce from the wall and the worm flies straight to the board). #stupidquestions

Ok so take a look at TTRR, it does take a long time to get good, but once you are good that's kinda it, you can play pretty much every map with equal skill and style, you don't need "hair splitting" accuracy/consistencyt(like you do in Darts).

Before you start yelling "BLASPHEMY! TTRR does require accuracy and consistency!", yes, it does but the goal is to get from the start to the end, you can mess up a move but still recover well by reacting quickly and correcting things, if you mess up one throw in Darts, you can get your ass whooped if your opponent is strong, in TTRR you have multiple attempts at getting from start to finish, in Darts you get 8 worms(no trying again if you fail) to get the highest score possible, TTRR is easier in THAT specific sense.

In Darts, you are aiming for a small bullseye target, it's EXTREMELY difficult to do this consistently, the difference in a bullseye/miss is "hair splitting".

I've only ever done about 30 perfect games(8xBullseye) in 4-5 years of Darts(you are talking thousands of hours) and that's on the easy maps, and that's also only in challenges/practise, only 1 perfect game has ever been scored by anyone in an official game, and that was me in a dS Tour, on a map I have practised for hundreds of hours lol.

Even Koreans would have a hard time getting Perfect Games in most maps.

Because it requires so much focus and concentration, along with impeccable timing, even small differences in distance from start to target, the size of the targets, the size of the wall you bounce from, make it VERY VERY hard to be a master at all these different maps, the more maps, the less skilled a player becomes overall because it takes so much practise to be good at all maps.

Getting 3x bullseye is even harder than doing a 3s grenade hit the same spot in BnG 2 times in a row (without full pwoer), and most people find that bloody hard lol,  i'm great at Darts/BnG because i'm naturally good with rhythm and timing.

So yeah, if people use "picker" the level of skill is gonna be horribly low, and imo that's an embarassment to this scheme considering how much skill it actually takes to be the best.

I am MOD of all Cups ;)  :P (But that's really just for accepting Cups and making sure Deadlines are met).

Yeah, using the dS Map Picker for already chosen maps, is the best way imo.

Letting someone pick maps themselves can be lame in Tournaments/Cups if they just choose their own favourites, but for example if I hosted a "Classic Darts Cup" i'd probably put up 10 of the most well known maps and have a vote on which 5 to use or something, that would be quite nostalgic and cool :D

Sensei really quit just because I made a long post and wanted a conversation with him? I didn't even insult him wtf, I actually insulted spleen and he stuck around... Weird... Come back Sensei! You are one of thee darters lol.

Komo if youd put as much effort in your music career as youbdo in your posts at tus youd be a widely known producer by now

But because youre not I would advise you to call Sensei, apologize to him (in person if its possoble Ill buy you a plane ticket) and then maaaybe hed join this.

Besides, now that youve screwed up so badly you will have to beg at wormnet for more players. Sounds fair to me and to you probably as well. :D

I put in way more effort into music than I have anything else in my life, WA and typing is easy as pie compared to music production / mixing engineering, it takes YEEEEARS of experience to become as good as I want to be, i'm impressing my peers and i've already been approached by several record labels but i've turned them down because i'm not ready yet.(When I want exposure, i'll get it lol)

Anyway, apologize to Sensei for what? I done the exact same thing he done except with way more depth and words, and added facts, I never said anything rude to him, I asked politely for him to elaborate on his opinion because i'm genuinely interested.

It amuses me how it's always the people who NEVER elaborate properly or go into proper detail that say all the ridiculous and exaggerated stuff...
