Creators update messed something up

Ever since the update of windows Im having trouble with my games.
Worms takes longer to minimize and I keep getting this annoying flickering window in the top left of the screen every 10 seconds or so.
One other game I play also has a samilar issue, it usually starts the game with a solid yellow screen, instead of with the menu, when I click with my mouse it proceeds to the menu as usual. An other game tends to crash every now and then, just going back to desktop and the game is completely gone 

I reckon a program on the background is intervening, claiming priority where it shouldnt :/
Would that be the problem, and how can i see which one it is?

That's a bit like what happened to me!

I done a windows update(included nvidia too), I couldn't minimize without crashing, randomly when starting a match all i'd see was 20% of the game in top left corner...

I changed from Direct3D 7 to Direct3D 9(shader) and it works fine for me now.

i have framedrops/screenlags, it's only really annoying when playing roping schemes.
i'm guessing it's either because of windows updates or graphic driver update.
i have win10 and creators update too & nvidia graphic card.
everything runs fine, except worms armageddon. xd

anyone have or had this problem too and can give me some advice please ?

are you using steam or cd?

i am using cd version.
direct3d9 (shader) and both vsyncs on.

i have already uninstalled the xbox app earlier, because i have read of these input lags, but i think i did not disable ''Game DVR'' before.
so i did it with the registry editor as described here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6239-DZCB-8600
and yes, step 4-6 did not exist in my registry.

disabling vsync gives me a black screen with sound (like for you i guess - i am using nvidia 382.33 driver) and disabling assisted vsync makes the rope feels weird.
i also installed wkNV3Doff.dll and wkAntiLag.dll which you can get here, for those who don't know: http://worms2d.info/WormKit
not sure if it really helped, but it didn't make it worse.

whatever it was, it got reduced to a very minimum, so it's enjoyable again.

For those with Nvidia graphics cards, you might want to set Maximum pre-rendered frames to 1. I use D3D9Wnd for convenience but playing without desktop composition will make the game more responsive.

Have you noticed, is it a regular Command Prompt window that pops up and quickly disappears? I had that too, and apparently it's a known issue. Check out the "Most Helpful Reply" here:
