Heresy! You have no idea, the game is flourishing and brimming with pros playing all day. You just can't see us because obviously everyone is playing and never joins #AG, why would we, for the most part we even join through direct IP so you can't even notice us playing! We have been playing in our own league for YEARS, we have a new league created a couple years ago. But you need to be on the darknet to access that, and no I am not telling you how to access that league. We have special sponsors that give out 100k for finals and we stream on a chinese streaming platform, no, you can't access it outside from China. We all live in China btw, I moved there after I joined an elite squad. Mablak invited me and we live in a house together, it's awesome. :D I wish I could tell you more but I am under NDA and only the elite of W:A is playing.

Enjoy your public noob WA!

Edit: Shit my manager is knocking on my door, I told you too much...

huahua damn asians, i was invited to north korea to teach kim how to rope thats why i was so inactive recently,

but tbh im just soooo f@#!en booored with my life... i dont feel like playing any games anymore, look like i need some changes or something.

Sounds like you see no purpose in anything that's currently available to you? Very common when you grow older. When you are young everything is new and exciting, new games, new GF, new jobs etc. But you get used to everything and some day you will start seeing pattern in everything. Conversations, games, partners and work. Everything feels the same and as such everything loses purpose. It's different from depression or sadness since you are not unhappy with yourself or something in particular. It's a relatively new and luxurious problem. Back in the days only very few rich people had the possibility to be over-saturated with what life has to offer. But the modern western world is over-saturated with entertainment and lives so fast and has so little "serious" problems. The farmer from 100 years ago had a simple purpose, make enough food so he and his family don't starve in winter. We do worry about losing our jobs, but not because we think we will starve to death, it's more like status quo we want to maintain. If you earn this amount of money you want at least the same forever so nothing changes. And this is the crux of it all, humans prefer no changes, but no changes mean boredom and in the end loss of purpose. Nothing matters really if you see no meaning in what you do.

Sorry for the off-topic but wanted to share/help. :)

Edit: This is just a distraction so I don't get kicked out from the house I currently live in with Mablak.

yep it's not 2001 anymore
That doesn't make WA dead, it's still flourishing.

To call W:A 'flourishing' is a joke. W:A is all but dead bro. The activity is so low at many times of the day. The vast majority of people online are snoopers, bots, and a small amount of random noobs. It's nothing like back in the day.

Obviously W:A is not TOTALLY dead but let's be real... it's on life support and has been for quite some time.

Not really surprising, we create technology based on our imagination. People wanted to learn how to fly like birds, so they started fantasizing about it and lastly invent actual flying. The technology we create is the technology we WANT!

Sporadically I play online, I tried connecting with ZaR but whenever I messaged them they didn't respond or were playing, the exception was Kradie who I managed to play with a couple of times and he's fun to play with, unfortunaly the community is way smaller for organized play and just playing random with strangers was never that fun for me. After like 2 weeks I stopped trying. Last I played was 22.07.2019 according to Steam.

Not to mention you have to swap language with a command prompt like it's 2000 again.

Fanboys said 2K did this on purpose, yeah buddy, that's why there are so many games on Steam where you have to use a command prompt instead of a drop-down menu to change language. Sure... LOL

Epic game store is a disease and it's a paid early access launch, the real release will be April 2020 on Steam with major bugs removed and optimizations to make it run smoothly. Also yeah Komo, I was SO excited for MW5, more than BL3. It is literally the franchise I got my nickname from

for W:A. But oh well, looking at BL3 I suppose it's fine impatient people pay for the development of the game and get to experience a buggy and beta version of the game. I will enjoy it once it comes out for real on Steam. My backlog is gigantic anyway, currently playing Witcher 3 with all DLC. :D

The world is not a video game Anu. A cap won't work at all cause it's impossible to implement. As it is now people just move their money elsewhere, invest it in material goods, land, property, or even illegal personal loans.

You have to control the greed of humans, obviously people would try to circumvent the cap. People did so in the game as well by creating new characters, it's nothing I didn't consider. Luxuries need to be banned, is there a practical use to have expensive cars or yachts? None at all. Remove incentive to be wealthy. The people want to be wealthy because you can buy something fancy with it and it often (always) also means more power.. If there literally was just basic entertainment and food/shelter there would be no need to earn so much money. And if you want to argue "it creates jobs, luxuries are important", we have plenty of work/jobs available. There is a gigantic part of humanity still starving, bad infrastructure etc. All these useless products for the 1% could be spent on labor that benefit the poor.

Quote from: HHC on September 05, 2019, 12:34 PM
The vast majority of people now live like landlords did in the 19th century. There has never been a time in history where the poor were better off than they are now.
Here some facts: Nearly 1/2 of the world's population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty.

VAST MAJORITY my ass. Landlords didn't have to worry about food, or having clothes.

I laugh at anyone saying "we are fine". In fact I would spit on them for such a statement in-front of me.

It's not that the people that have a lot of money/possession are evil. In capitalism someone HAS to have more than others that's how it's supposed to work. You sell something for profit to then make even more profit. It's like the average, if someone is above average, someone has to be below average. You can't have one million Michael Jordans, or even thousands of Messis. Everything is in balance, if those people would die for whatever reason then somebody else will take it's place, because it has to be like this with the system we have. What are the alternatives? Communism? I don't think that would end that well either. Maybe we need a system that has a "cap" on profitability. If you own 1 Million worth of property/money, then you are done. You won't need more. Luxuries need to be removed. Nobody needs a 1 million yacht to feel fulfilled. The reason people strive to have so much wealth is because others have so much wealth, it's a infinite race that nobody can win, that's why I think we need a wealth cap to make capitalism less "evil".

Back in WoW Vanilla there used to be a gold cap per character. 214,748 gold 36 silver and 47 copper. That was the maximum amount of gold you could have. There was no point screwing over people anymore on the AH or in Trade. You were done. I think a cap like this would be excellent for the world.

That's true, but sometimes it's done innocently enough, and other times it's blatantly ridiculous.

If I go into detail about why it's ridiculous right here, i'll get moaned at for going into such detail and being a nerd lol, you can't win.

And it's not like being against microtransactions & DLC is something that is a minority, literally millions of people around the world share this opinion, so it's a very legitimate arguement to be made, especially when it's in the forums of a game you are very passionate about!

I didn't take it personally and go in a huff when a certain person in this thread said my music was crap  :D :D

Like, whatever happened to confidence around here?   ;D

Trust me, there are people that enjoy your in-depth posts. Who cares what they think about your approach to discussing topics, no need to justify yourself, in fact, knowing this would encourage me to keep doing it just to annoy them because that's what they deserve when a completely irrelevant detail such as this gets on their nerves. You are not breaking the rules for posting in such a way. And let's be real, to get annoyed at lengthy texts is ridiculous, especially when it's well spaced and written. Maybe they don't want to read it all, but they believe if they don't they might not find that one sentence they can use against you to make you upset or to prove you are wrong. Wouldn't surprise me at all and gives you way more power than they have.

Wow, talk about being a hypocrite...

I'll let the brains of the operation here figure that one out.

Pretty much everyone is a hypocrite, unwillingly, unintentionally.. even unconsciously without realizing it. It's very common. You can even be a goodwill hypocrite, doing good things everywhere but with different intensity based on a slight difference in judgement, again this can happen unintentionally. It's also pretty much impossible to treat everyone/thing the same, unless you can forcefully project your emotions and thoughts at a constant level which in turn results in you being a robot, non-human. With that being said, having a somewhat coherent compass you are generally better off in society, but a truly unbiased and fair human... I haven't met or read about, I think it's impossible.

C'mon, its a tiny phone app game, if you are taking an ethical stand on the state of microtransactions, you look foolish here.

Sharing, discussing and elaborating with other people around the world about a topic is very new and exciting in a forum, I know! Very rarely, if ever, there are opposing opinions and it can get heated up. Luckily all of us in here are gentlemen and don't discriminate anyone when we have different stances, right? :)

QuoteI bet the same people against MT were the same ones boycotting shareware in the 1990's,  ;D

I doubt there are a lot of people in their 40s here, I was born 1985 and one of the older guys in W:A, and in my 90s I had no time to think about shareware, or what that even was, or even have internet, let alone a PC or even then probably wouldn't care.

cherry mx red switches and a couple of o-rings in space.

cheap and simple.
listen to adun

wormers keep on looking for a keyboard that will fix their timing mistakes

only practice makes you better, not keyboards

everyone is looking for a shortcut but there isn't one

Long ago back in the early 2000, I used regular plastic keyboard for roping and never gave a thought to it. There were no words about what keyboard you had, it was just about how good you were.  My roping was fine, and over time my skills Improved. It was a unconscious acceptance to adapt to what you had.

Four years ago I still used a normal cheap plastic keyboard, and then something happened to it, so I had to get a new one. I still didn't care and thought about expensive keyboards, latency, etc, so I got myself a wireless keyboard. It worked well, I was happy with it, I adapted and mastered to its full potential as I did with my predecessors. By then people were raging on and on about mechanical keyboards, it was on worms, and youtube etc. So I thought to myself ''Why the hell not?'' so I Invested in a mechanical keyboard, with romer-g switches and I was surprised over how much I Improved, and I found myself I could even Improve more.

Unfortunately, one of the key switches broke, I was forced with 2 options; 1. Order a new keycap, and switch, dissemble the keyboard, remove switch, place new switch in and solden it. 2. Buy new one. I took my bet on the latter, and Invested in a new mechanical keyboard with red switches. My skills were dramatically reduced, my roping abilities became unstable & slow due to the spacebar. The spacebar is somewhat wobbly and overly sensitive. It is difficult to gain momentum and maintain speed. Sometime the rope shoots twice in a millisecond, or unwillingly. Sure, one could argue ''That's something to master'', but to that I say ''No''.- I have already mastered roping to a certain extent that I can feel comfortable at.

So I decided first time in my life to use wkRemapKeys. I switched spacebar to ctrl and capslock. My skills improved to its former glory, stable rope, acceleration and scrolls. Confidence was restored, and I was happy. Still, I need to get used to it, it feels odd.

Perhaps it is not about the switches, but how the keyboard is put together. Regardless, spacebar is worthless for roping on my current keyboard. And in the end, it does matter what keyboard you use and how much time you are willing to invest to master it.  It is not like a noob turns into the best roper around given the right keyboard, all equipment takes time to overcome its potential.  No matter if it is cheap or not.

Thanks for the replies nice people, I will take your feedback into consideration when I decide to get another keyboard :)

Amen to that, I have some real shitty kbs in the cellar that I grabbed for free/1$ each just to test them for roping from a flea market, and by god... a few of them are so bad I could turn Mablak into Peja instantly, it's magic. :D

Most manufacturers do not care about input lag. They are content with something that works. Bloody are an exception which is why you can feel the difference.

That's why old IBM kbs (mechanical or rubberdome) are so good. They still feel fastest to me to this date. Although I have only tested a handful of modern kbs (logitech, Qpad, cherry). Old IBM is so good when it comes to response time.

You don't need alcohol to post this, it's the internet the repercussions are mild (temporary ban or just a locked thread). No need to get drunk, also when you are drunk you are typing worse than normally and probably missed some points you wanted to make. Alcohol also favors emotional based conclusions (rage, sad, anger etc.) so you can't truly speak your mind and just express your emotions. When you are sober just type the same message again and see the difference. :D
