Schemes / Re: What is the most luck based scheme?
August 21, 2021, 10:49 PM
Hello!

I'm terms of how high winning percentages are, there are a few more factors.

Is every game being reported?
If players agree to DoN then the all-round top players may be losing less games, or they may be denied wins in their strongest schemes because they lost the opponent's pick.

I think it depends on the player's mentality on schemes vs all round too.
Scheme specialists will probably have a really high win percentage. Certain schemes lend themselves to being specialist schemes due to unique skills required.

The high percentages could actually be due to opponents not wanting to play the scheme, and in some cases they "can't be bothered" rather than thinking they have no chance.

Don't tell anyone what the keyboard models are - we should be doing guess the keyboard model! :)

I can see the Logitech Illuminated keyboard there...

Off Topic / Re: Tus poker tournaments?

I just tried joining the room that spleen created - it said that the Club ID and invitation code combination is not valid!

Maybe if those joining as part of the surge enjoy it, there could be a semi active community until summer.

Tempted to try this

It depends on which scheme you want the keyboard for.

For league ttrr you want something reliable and for me that is steelseries gv2.

It probably isn't the best for tapping but I tried the logitech illuminated (TOMT sent me it after warmer competition) and it was very "tappy" and not so reliable.

Infact, I am not the best at warmer but the steelseries was good enough to get the turn I wanted and I couldn't blame it for any fall.

The only question is black switches vs red; I have only tried black.

30s RR did exist in WL days.
Was the only scheme I could play in 2001 xD

I don't know if a steady league format would boost overall activity. It depends on what individuals want.

I miss paying competitive games. I think money does help. For example, I would happily re-learn and b07/b09 ttrr vs masta, or sbaffo for money and the streaming would entertain.

I would come back for a 1v1 TTRR marathon for money  ;D
#13
Getting money challenges streamed would be a good way to entertain everyone.
Probably sustainable if it was done every week...

It takes longer to get "good" at certain schemes, I would say that is obvious.

To increase activity given our constraints we should either have the most popular schemes or easier to learn.

I don't think we should be worrying about the balance of the schemes, we are beyond that.

I don't understand the obsession with 3 schemes. Even more specifically role, strategic, artillery? That's nonsense and arbitrary.
If you want activity then let's go with Mole Shopper, Intermediate, aerial.

Activity is low here because the game is old (which we can't help) and we as a community are turning into jerks.
