@12.44, mister Doctor Andonuts (hollow) outdid himself on this one. WSE contender.

I don't really understand where's that line where things start to go lame in BnG!?

Haha, I mean.. Each day I figure there's some new way of trying to "cheat" the game.
And it's never lame, ofc - it's always: those are game mechanics!!

Count sprites, pull out the ruler.. Get me my notch table, immediately!!! Wait a sec... I'm just gonna hold my thumb on a monitor screen half of the game, because counting gets boring and takes too much time  8)

Please someone explain how people get to a stage where they hold their finger on the monitor screen for accumulated 10+ minutes and ,over the years, manage to convince themselves it's cool thing to do!? Not lame at all.. I mean - it's just game mechanics, right!?

Haha, sorry Free.. Nothing of this was going towards you personally. It was a fun conversation we led before game ended, but HP was too low to say all of this. Know I've been talking about BnG a lot lately, and people are probably tired of me and these rants..
But can't be the only one thinking something really needs to be done with this scheme. Something drastic. Auto re-aim + manual reaim, lower turn time, a2b league rules (no repeats.. if you hit with one kind of a shot, next dmg must be applied with different shot)..

When Husk and myself stripped BnG down to 2 seconds (+ rule of reaiming only after hitting, +lower hp) and people could only rely on their game feel.. So there was no notching, sprite counting, thumb placing, ruler holding.... Best BnG player comes and leaves a comment that this scheme is...boring!

Well, enough said.

Because:

1) You're playing in allround/default league: your season/overall points is the sum of different schemes. You're 4th this season, and 86% of your games were bng. Your season rating would be totally different if you wouldn't cherry pick the scheme to play (i'm not saying you do, i'm saying that tus right now allows you to do it) or let's say if you used a matchmaking system.

Well, since there isn't a league specifically for BnG out there (nor Aerial, nor Big RR, nor Jetpack race..), I tend to host it as a mutual pick, yeah. In the end, not gaining/losing anything. Guys like you, on the other hand, that have a goal to reach PO's - can decide will you consider to take this offer of single BnG match and battle it out. You all probably will get more points than you'd lose, since I'm holding #1 spot in BnG atm.. (even though I play it miserably)

Funner BnG is way too boring. Sorry if this affects you that much. I just want a better quality match and you won't get that in #ag, if people have nothing to lose.
I'm glad Aerial and Big RR were finally added into the main league. These two are my fav scheme. Few years back, would probably be fighting for those PO's big time.. Just don't feel like doing that anymore. Points don't bring that much satisfaction like they used to. Grinding either. And, imo, playing the league way I do right now is better contribution for all of you, than to just go around doing Elites, Hysts, Team17's and giving lot of players lot of points...

Would for sure love some of the schemes I play and want to compete on highest level - get their dedicated leagues. Would make us both happier, since then I wouldn't be bothering with this certain league of 7-8 different schemes.
But let's be realistic.. This is not exactly the game with thousands of players on daily basis and by the looks of it - it never will be. Nor you, nor me won't get what we want.. So let's just try to enjoy it while it lasts.
Maybe Komo's new league idea freshens things up a bit. We'll see.

Hm, this whole season I've been hosting "TUS BnG anyone?"

By the looks of it, some ppl in the community would find this cheap!? What's cheap about it? Skipping mine and opponent's pick, going for mutual right away and not forcing anyone to join and play.

Cheap thing is to play the game and notice how, when hp starts to get lower, opponent's aim angle start to get lower too.. This, my friends, is school example of caring about points.

I'll make a short video on it if anyone wants to see how easy it is.

Do it. I'm curious

It's not going to change anything except making it harder for inexperienced players.

As said - only change auto-reaim adds is for people that used thumb for locking their 4s nades aim. Now they'll need to hold their thumb on the screen during whole opponent's turn. Which is awesome and sad at the same time.

Yeah, 7s turn looks like a sweet spot! If more people agree, mods should really consider changing this in Season #30.
While we're at it, wouldn't kill us to brainstorm about other schemes and their problematics. So we update them all for #30 and make league as competitive as it can get.

Tita, sunday 22gmt? Does that work for you? I should be at home for sure.
About saturday, probably don't know until the evening.
#143
Yeah, Senator.. You should pay attention when Komo speaks about what he thinks is the best.
And if we all decide 5-6 seconds per turn is enough for scheme like BnG.. I'm sure he'll prove us wrong, too! :)
#144
Auto-reaim + manual reaim of 90 degree!
That should take some time off these notchers and mess with their counting. So just leave the rules as they are but add auto reaim!? Or even better - add auto reaim and put a turn at 7 seconds.. I mean, wtf is with 15 anyway? You have anchored worm and 2 possible weapons to shoot from.. 15 seconds for that? Player that started playing yesterday wouldn't need more than 4 to do this.

Wouldn't changing this be fair for most of the people? Would surely make games more interesting if up against the guys that rely on counting, rather than feeling.

I'd just want to imagine someone placing their thumb and holding it for 20-30 seconds on the monitor just to repeat some full power shot they had lock on previous turn, haha!

This is not gonna possible at all and you can tell it simply by looking at Free's reaction in this game lol imagine how other people would react to this

[TdC-Free] u dont know what i mean about reaiming
[TdC-Free] getting the same exact cursor spot
[TdC-Free] harder to do when u start from floor level etc
[MV-Quasimoto] reaiming was a rule made in order to avoid that thing

Well, since only "good" reason to not include auto-reaim in BnG is that players would need to work a bit harder to achieve one of the lamest tactics game can offer.. I'm sure us two will be in a minority of wanting a scheme to be a bit more competitive.

I get ZERO lag whatsoever roping with this in Wireless mode...

Bit of an off-topic, but not really:

Weren't we already had discussion about you using vertical sync in W:A (which adds really notable input delay), and you haven't noticed it while roping!? Or got so used to it that it seemed normal to you? Don't get me wrong, but if you don't notice vertical sync being turned on, I don't think you would notice difference between wire and wireless as well.. (which is a bless and I'm kinda jealous)
#148
Totally forgot about auto-reaim is even possible. This should be installed into TUS BnG scheme right away.
It won't stop people from using marked spots for their 4sec max power nades, but it surely would make them look foolish with their thumb on the screen for 20+ seconds :)

Really no reason this isn't part of BnG yet.

The technology for wireless has improved so much some claim it's actually better than wired.

Not an expert.. But pretty sure that isn't the case. And never will be for that matter! Wire is wire.

I have played several Boom Races since my return, and none of the players wanted to play with the original single shot a turn scheme. They all preferred a scheme with sdet+ldet.

Been saying this for years now, but no one seemed to care enough. Good to hear more people chip in with same idea.
