We are civilized. We are pointing out the Immoral practice and the Impartial decision making.

If the situation were reversed I think people would react poorly. So Instead in such reversed situation I'd make a poll Darts or ZaR. While ZaR could lose in this poll, I'd walk away with good conscience knowing I made the right call.

Well, to begin with, you are missing the entire point of this League Kradie, also, as I've said before, it's like you guys are agreeing to the T&C and then being surprised when it actually happens.

Immoral practise? Please, explain how ANYTHING I've done regarding the current TRL League is immoral.

Impartial decision making? You're saying it's not biased, but it IS biased when it comes to a split vote, and I explained that when this League was first proposed AND more importantly approved:

Quote from: TheKomodo on February 13, 2024, 12:02 AM
For most future Seasons there will be polls to decide the scheme and the scheme variants as well as if it will be Best of 1, Best of 3 or Best of 5 for each scheme to win.

This means that ANY scheme can be used.

Here's a few more possibilities, remember - Artillery/Physical/Strategic:

Black Hole BnG / Bungee Shopper / Elemental

Paranoia / Surf Shopper / One of Everything

Plop War / Trick Race / Kaos

Hysteria / Darts / Abnormal

Forts / Wascar / Board Game

Literally any scheme as long as it fits the right criteria to match each category of schemes!

However, since this is something that I have planned and funded alone and that MonkeyIsland has approved for me to manage alone, of course, help is appreciated! I plan to make sure that classic variants or my personal favourites are used from time to time. As TRL is just the testing ground, if it's successful the way I hope, it'll develop into it's own thing.

Which means most of the time, I won't really have a say in which scheme is picked unless it's a split vote. Though a few seasons a year will be dealers pick! Which I will genuinely base on what I want to see as well as what people actually want!

So don't worry thinking I'm going to be picking anything that people don't like, you have to keep in mind that the nature of this League is not to be selfish! It's to accept how other people want to play as well while still using and respecting authentic and traditional schemes.

On the Seasons which I pick what schemes are played, if there is actually a big backlash to this, or heavy protesting to do something else, of course I'll take that into consideration!

After all I'm doing this both because I want to see the best of the best compete, but also see it from all corners of the globe with a variety of skillsets.

I'm actually quite hopeful that the majority of players will bring some interesting suggestions, it'll be exciting to see which 3 schemes are used each Season and to see how each players improves at each scheme since you only need to focus on 1 of each type each Season.

https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/leagues-general/new-league-using-trl-as-a-test-drive-starting-1st-march-2024-36443/msg294791/#msg294791

Not only will I have the veto vote during split votes, there will be the odd Season(probably just 1 per year) where I choose ALL 3 schemes, as in, anything I want, which will more than likely be scheme that were voted in the past but didn't win.

Remember, this is a League that I've created that's being used inside MonkeyIsland's League...

Let's clear it up and fully explain the reasoning why this new League exists:

This is Leagueception, it's a league within a league within a league... It's CWA within TUS within TRL.

When I brought the idea of CWA(The 3 scheme Artillery/Physical/Strategic) to MonkeyIsland he liked the idea but proposed using TRL as TRL already had all the requirements and setup needed to run the League, and since TRL was inactive we decided to use it as a testing ground sort of. This means we could see if anybody would even like the idea, and MonkeyIsland wouldn't have to invest as much of his spare time adding an extra League on the website.

Think of it like this... I like TUS Allround and TUS TFL League, and although I'm not a fan of the amount of different schemes they offer they do still provide great competitive gameplay, I really enjoy Clanners!. The problem for me has always been that there are too many schemes to realistically practise at the top level and that the Playoffs only requires you to play Bo5.

I, and many others, very often over the years have made a point of really disliking the experience of playing specific schemes. You've got to remember, this is a hobby we do in our spare time, we're supposed to enjoy our spare time as an escape from work, family, or whatever... How can you realistically expect to grow a community when you keep isolating people like this? It doesn't matter if Sbaffo thinks you are "a p***y" or if you get called an avoider... If I have a choice of spending a few seconds reading a biased insult as opposed to spending hours and hours of my spare time doing things I don't enjoy... You better believe I'm choosing being insulted because that takes seconds and leaves me with more free time to enjoy my life.

I've noticed something personally over the history of this game... For the past 20 years the general activity of the game online has felt exactly the same for me. However, from my perspective, the general activity of the mainstream competitive scene(us) seems to have gradually got lower and lower as more and more schemes were added to the selection of competitive schemes to compete in the main allround league. The main leagues are trying to do too many different things at the same time there's too much choice... You've got clans who have ZERO ropers, or ZERO strategic players or ZERO bng players and even when people agree to play clanners and singles, it's becoming more common you may spend up to 5-10 minutes debating on the scheme to pick, or what map to use etc.

Over the past 5 years I've noticed patterns where people are more willing to come together for specific competitive environments, which is why Cups and Challenges are still going so strong, Cups especially, in my opinion, are the best thing on TUS at the moment. Well, that and the current TRL now. :P

Anyway, I've always thought of WA as being 3 categories of gameplay, Artillery, Physical and Strategic. For me the ideal competitive environment is taking the "less is more" approach. You have less schemes, but in theory a higher level of skill and more players competing when players focus on just the 3 schemes during that Season.

Doing it this way is a compromise for CWA and for TRL to combine both ideas in a way that maintains the TUS charm of playing the Season however you enjoy! As in you can play just 1 scheme and focus on that individual schemes standings and compete against the others who play that scheme and even opt out of the Playoffs if you don't care about the prizes. However the main focus for serious players will be reaching the playoffs, achieving glory by being the best 3 scheme allrounder and winning some decent prize money as well as just enjoying the game and having the chance to play against the best players in the world, learning new skills and improving.

Less is more is very important, I feel like the way the mainstream League of WA works has grown out of control, kind of like a garden in the sense that... If your grass grows too long and there is too much, it looks messy and untidy. If you keep it nice and trimmed it's more appealing, neat, tidy, organized. And that potential players are customers looking to play in the garden, if it's a mess, they will keep looking for other gardens to play in.

In our case we have too many schemes being used competitively for the size of garden we have... We have too many schemes and not enough players Even if we had more players it's still not ideal because only a small percentage of those would have enough time to master 12 schemes for allround and 21 schemes for TFL. We simply DO NOT have enough time on our hands as adults to sit playing WA 8-16 hours a day to play THAT many schemes!

How many TOP allrounders do you actually see these days? Like proper allrounders who are way above average at every scheme, and let's just say, you can't count anyone who started WA before 5 years ago... I don't see any, not a single person. I see a lot of people who are top players, or specialize at at least 1 out of 3 category, and is good enough at another category that they actually have a chance of winning against a lot of people who share similar traits.

That's why I know deep down we're onto something good here... So good that we've received an official sponsor and even more prize money from another player! If we can continue to grow and support each other with this idea, who knows in a few years we could have £1000's on the prize money with sponsors from keyboard organizations and what not... It's a pipe dream, but it's definitely possible with the right enthusiasm and support.

If the CWA Twitch channel keeps growing and making more money from subscribers and donations then all that goes to prize money. We also have several players who like putting money towards well organized and popular events here as well. This entire idea exists because I've been paying attention to what people are literally complaining about and asking for and trying to put it all together.

It's not REALLY my idea, it's yours, the community as a whole. It's my project to organize it all and make decisions when required. For the most part, it's YOU guys who are running the show though with YOUR vote.

I'm not doing this for me, I'm doing it for the community and if other people sponsor it, THEY will have a say in what happens as well, that's how it works.

Moral of the story, Kradie, if you want ZaR, then get support from your ZaR community, it's that simple.

Also - MeTonaTOR, you make your own choices, and at the end of the day, you not playing now doesn't change anything anyway so it doesn't bother me. I blocked you because you came to my private messages again talking about my personality instead of the subject we were debating and I couldn't be bothered with it.

If you don't like this idea, if you don't like me, just say that, stop beating around the bush with comments that have nothing to do with TRL.

?????????

:D

Well, the way you've quoted that does make it look silly lol.

Though that's taken out of context to be fair, I didn't say that before we started this, it was a reply to you asking a question about freedom of speech.

That was me basically saying "What is your problem? Me, or this League?" If it's me, then just say it's me, and then I'll know not to reply again, because the only reason I keep replying is to ACTUALLY find a solution.

If there is no solution, because you just simply don't like my personality, and that's the only thing bothering you, then I wouldn't need to reply again wouldn't I?

What do you expect me to do?

If someone has a problem with the way this new League is ran, then I'm trying to understand if that problem is a personal problem, or an actual flaw with the way the League is designed to work. If a very small minority doesn't like the voting system but the vast majority is happy enough, that isn't a problem, that's just life, you can't like everything, and nobody expects anything to be liked by everyone.

I did say at the very start, that since this 3-scheme League is the idea that I've decided to put the effort into sponsoring, organizing and streaming etc, that I would get the veto vote, and IF enough people have a problem with that THEN in future we could change how that works or if I feel like I'm not getting what I wanted out of it, I'll back away entirely.

The whole point of this anyway is that nobody gets what they want all the time, but eventually over time we will all get a chance to play and support all the other awesome schemes that competitive players enjoy playing a few months at a time, something different to the allround/tfl leagues... A chance to play TFL and Allround schemes even together!

It doesn't help solve the problem, if people don't stick to the subject though. Not liking the outcome of a decision of a split vote by the person who is running a competitive environment then attacking that person's writing style doesn't help whatsoever.

Sbaffo said the decision was biased, and he's not wrong, it IS! It was ALWAYS going to be a veto vote in the cases of a split vote. We should be choosing different schemes every Season anyway. That's the idea that was praised and supported in the beginning, and I'm doing exactly that by personally voting for something different next Season, and truth be told I'll probably even vote for ZaR next Season.

I really just don't get why anyone would think I'm doing anything bad or selfish here...

Stick to the subject, or I'm not interested, thanks.

1. Arent we on public forum where freedom of speech is an option?

MeTonaTOR, what is the point that you are trying to make here? Are you here just to annoy me personally?

If you don't like this idea, if you don't like me, just say that, stop beating around the bush with comments that have nothing to do with TRL.

You actively said yourself, you didn't vote, you don't intend to play either so what you are essentially doing right now MeTonaTOR is walking past something that you aren't even invested in the slightest, but you've decided to crash the party like a drunken maniac and start yelling at the party host for trying to create a nice place for people to enjoy themselves.

Then when I point this out to you, you retalitate with "Oh look, there goes Komo being Komo"...

Yeah MeTonaTOR! Well done, that REALLY shows me you're a civilized adult who has made ANY valid point whatsoever... Bravo! ::)

Until I do something that is ACTUALLY IMMORAL or goes against ACTUAL LEAGUE RULES, then there literally is ZERO legitimate problems here right now, just a few people not happy with the result and not mature enough to accept that in a civilized manner.

If I break any rules, or do something immoral, THEN tell me, so I can fix that!

Right now, TRL, as in the actual league we're supposed to be talking about, not my personality, is fine and it's successful in it's purpose.

Bro literally making essays once again 💀

Why are you even making that comment?

You came here complaining, since it's me running this multi league thing I have to respond and explain my choices and actions and be held responsible if I did actually do anything wrong.

Then when I go into detail to explain everything that's happened and why it's happened that way,  that's all you've got to say back??? You can't even follow up with anything relevant??

Why can't you act like a civilized adult and continue with the conversation as normal? Why not say you do or do not understand the points I've made, you agree or disagree with them, or don't say anything at all?

Making comments about how people write, is completely irrelevant and is ACTUAL DRAMA.

My posts are not the drama here, the drama is you guys who can't stick to the subject.

This Season I'm choosing Darts over ZaR purely because Triad said he would donate a very generous sum of £100 for the prize pool if his favourite schemes were picked! On top of the £200 already(£100 from me, £100 from sponsorship) we now have a whopping £300 prize pool! Not bad!

Literally Pay 2 Win season of all time, instead of taking actions with Comet Dodging or another poll, you just picked a scheme "by its reward"...

But still better option than ZaR xD

How is that pay 2 win? We're paying for OTHER people to have more prize money lol.

Even without Triad choosing to add extra prize money, I'd still have chosen Darts...

Also I did say in advance that if any of the polls draw I'll decide the winning scheme.

You're welcome to get all your friends to vote for the scheme you want for next time. If its a clear winner than I'm not allowed to interfere.

TRL wasn't even active anyway before this idea so don't see what the problem is... Before you had nothing, not you have a chance to win decent money.

It's vote 2 win, not pay 2 win.

Kradie - Any time there is a vote, someone always feels a cop out, someone always loses.

You seem to be missing the whole point of this new League idea.

We are using TRL but it ISNT Classic TRL.

This is an idea for a League that I wanted to run and operate to create some cash prizes for everyone by cycling through various schemes each month and so that everyone gets their chance to play their favourite schemes over a period of time.

MI liked the idea and said we could use TRL instead of adding a League which I would have called CWA naturally...

He approved me to run it fairly, and I've done everything so far that I said I would.

It's like people read and agree to the terms and conditions, then complain once those terms and conditions are followed exactly.

We don't always get what we want in life, but with this new League eventually we should all get a chance to play all the different schemes!

No scheme can be used more than twice in a row either, so it has to sit out for a few seasons.

I'm not voting for the same scheme every season, I pick something new for variety.

Also... It's hilarious than when I literally hand picked ALL 3 SCHEMES  for the first Season NOBODY had an issue... And now because I choose 1 winner from a draw vote a couple people feel so bad?

Cmon man 🤣🤣🤣

I literally am less biased this season than last season lol..

The incentive for me is that I get to choose the winning vote between ties, since I'm paying for the cash prizes.

I don't get to rig anything though.

If the entire community has an issue with me deciding the winning vote between draws then quite frankly I'll just stop altogether and you can go back to a dead inactive League, would you prefer that?

I want SOMETHING back for all the time, money and effort I invest into this League... It's a lot of work and you don't seem to appreciate that. So I get to pick when there is a draw? Why is that such a problem?

Still. Even with the very few complaints I've had a lot of great feedback for this Season as well 😊

Anyway, Kradie, ZaR has like 1000000 members, why didn't more ZaR members vote for ZaR, why don't you go complain at them for not supporting you 🤣
