Saint can find me at Gamesurge #worms IRC channel if he wishes to play my pick, I don't usually play often and expected to play my favorite Hysteria.

I went through the recent league games with Saint, and noticed that all have "Winner's pick" and "Elite/Intermediate" schemes being played, with no corresponding opponent's pick played/reported:

Maps / What is the license of uploaded maps?

I want to integrate some of the maps in my potentially commercial product, namely for implementing missions almost like in Worms series. I'm not talking about Team17's maps and themes, but rather maps made by community. Would I have to contact each individual author?

General discussion / Roping - what do you like and hate about it?

I decided to start this topic in hopes to gather more perspective on how ropers deal with, well, ropes. The opinions are scattered throughout forums and I'd like to integrate this knowledge. This knowledge will be valuable for any potential spiritual successor of W:A that comes out, including mine, as you may know. I feel like this is a crucial part of the game that made W:A prosper, including BnG (of which I know most of the aspects already). Alas, my roping experience is limited.

If you don't mind, please try to answer some of the following questions:
  • What do you like/hate about roping?
  • What features would you add/remove in order to facilitate/improve roping experience?
  • Is remapping essential and how would you see it?
  • What is so special about W2 rope compared to W:A rope?
  • Are you satisfied with rope's physics? Would you like to see both realistic and current rope physics alongside?
Don't limit yourself on the vision of how would you improve it, but also replace it with totally different beast that is better than the current rope.

Possible features:
  • Controllable and unrestricted angle (Xrayez, HHC)
  • Rope reattachment without using second instance of rope (HHC)
  • Auto-detachment on attachment (Xrayez)

Download: TSM



TSM is a Windows program written specifically for managing signups and messaging during, say, Worm Olympics tournaments.
  • More convenient way to gather and store information about participants;
  • Automatically generates a list of players and their number (and copies the list of players into clipboard);
  • Some common messages that are used to inform participants about signups stuff;
  • It is not a pairing tool, use RandomBot for that.

Before using the program, you must enter your MOD nickname, name of a tournament, link to a webpage and channel in order for messages to be displayed correctly. Here's an example of all messages:

  • After starting TSM, enter all required information about your tournament, then click Start button;
  • Start entering information about participants one-by-one, you can skip some of the fields. Then press <Enter> or Add button. Whenever you enter a participant, the list of players in your clipboard is updated; if your tournament is 2v2 or 3v3, enter info as follows: Xrayez/Dude, che/dd, Ukraine/Dudeland, *;
  • If you entered wrong information, delete the wrong item from the list by mouse left clicking on it;
  • During signups time you might want to post various type of messages to participants, including the list of players. Use the list of commands for that (such as <Ctrl>+<F1> to post a welcome message);
  • After signups, you might want to export the list of players into a text file. Use Export button for that.
