Kardie - I don't wish for old schoolers to come back. I wish for younger players to stay and for the next generation to come through. Those players I believe are shocked at how difficult it is to host and no secure logins. There's two things would improve player retention dramatically!

Kardie - I'm currently not playing as there is no TTL and if there was I wouldn't want two seperate t17 ratings. The reason I have no motivation to play is I'm competitive and I don't like the current competitive league system.
I don't play allround league because my time is limited and I don't want to play wxw or big rr/tower rr. All over schemes I'm happy to play.
The proposed league system MI has sounds excellent and soon as it comes out I'll be asking for TUS and setting my preferences to part take in elite, t17 and bng playoffs

i feel like this has something to do with gen z becoming old enough to work now. they are either working, or doing a 2nd tier of uni/college, therefore basically no time/energy to play a mentally taxing game

Chicken, WA has always been active regardless lack of secure logins and absence of ranks. Nobody today talks about those two things on Worms, and if they do its rare, normally on TUS forums. Hosting has always been a major difficult obstacle, but yet, people have found a way. We have even survived without new update for a decade and activity has always been more or less like now, mins the competitive side of things.
WA is community sustained and thrives of the kindness and passion of others. If you want to make league active, look forward, and form new connections.
To hope for old school people to return is a passing daydream. If a person has enough passion for a game they would continue to play now and then without excuse that league is not enough active.
A new modern TUS would entice old and new people.

If people like Rocket, and Chicken, wouldn't have bowed out, the league could had been a little more active. Who knows how many have left like this. All these people who bowed out, maybe they should band together and make league activity great again. Putting the band back together

There are already discords like cwa to ask for TUS but an official TUS discord wouldn't be a bad idea. Probably better than the instant messaging available on the site.
There is a whole new league system MI has said he's working on which will boast activity for single scheme players like myself. However MI probably has lots going on in real life and not much time to code.
We should all donate to the cause. Also CS and DC making core game updates will have ab impact.
I said similar things in that other thread

Pretty fun.
here is a link to that map and others that are easy ones. as you can see in the replay we failed a lot and still managed to do it.

Quote from: FoxHound on July 06, 2025, 01:14 PMI just watched it. Looks very fun. It is more interactive and friendly with new players that want to rope better, also all players are usually close to each other, so it is different from regular BRR that one player is far ahead of the others. In this scheme this can happen, but if one fail everybody loses. This scheme makes you think and don't follow the arrows of the map, the mines can help a lot when on thin lines. Sometimes is better to use zook early and don't wait for the last second of the turn time, because the shortcut is way better on specific spots.
Yes, exactly. you got the point. as well with the zooking before the end of turn. mostly just because you have found the shortest or the most efficient way instead of going around it which could save the whole team a bunch of time before the flood gets you.
