Last post by Perdunok - Today at 06:46 AMThis cup has been going on for almost 7 months, isn't it time to finish it? DJ, what do you think about this? If the players haven't been able to agree on a game for a month, why don't you give one of them those. winning and not finishing this f@#!ing cup? How long will it last? Maybe a year?

TUS Discussion / Re: Small game community. VERY...
Last post by Perdunok - Today at 06:40 AMTo be honest, I don't understand why the game of worms armageddon has lost its popularity. After all, this game is very exciting, complex, and has a wide variety of schemes and maps. For example, chess, which is simpler and not as exciting, is much more popular worldwide. Many players don't understand that this is a highly strategic game. Unfortunately, there are currently very few people in this game who have contributed to its popularity and development. I understand that at some point, experienced adult players have almost no time left to play the game (unless you're a game-addicted Rafka who needs to prove himself every day by taking advantage of new players). They have a lot of household chores, work, family, business, and various hobbies, and they can't play as much as they used to, but they could still dedicate 1-2 months a year to participating in tournaments. However, there's a big problem here. The tournament organizers are so incompetent that they allocate a significant amount of time for the tournament, which can last from half a year to a year!
This is a big problem for many players who don't have that much time to play, and it's not only annoying for the tournament participants but also for spectators. The tournament shouldn't last more than 2 months, and the tournament organizer should set deadlines and make sure they are met. Kilobit has greatly disrupted the CWT tournament by extending it for half a year! Additionally, a noob participated in the tournament, playing in 3 or 4 groups simultaneously! They played until the end and were not banned. I see the same thing in other tournaments, such as the Elite House tournament. It's sad to see that this tournament has been going on for 7 months and has no intention of ending. It started in December! If players are unable to play each other within the specified deadlines, the organizer should award a technical victory to one of the players.

Last post by j0e - July 13, 2025, 10:43 PMJust dreaming a bit: if WA had unicode (Asian languages, Russian, etc) support and built-in translation, our playerbase would explode overnight.
Remember there were hundreds of thousands of Korean Worms players back in the day. It wouldn't take many of them wanting a nostalgia trip to permanently revive WA.
Maybe there is some hacky way to accomplish some kind of Unicode support (perhaps with Wormkit and/or using 3rd party chat tools to overlay the frontend and in-game chat menus?), linked to an online translation API. A big downside is that the unicode chat couldn't be part of the replays without more complication (companion .WAchat files?). It does seem unlikely. Maybe there's something on GitHub we can work with.
Gamepad support would be popular too. There's a Wormkit module now, but nothing compares to having it baked in.

Last post by TheKomodo - July 13, 2025, 06:29 PMQuote from: Chicken23 on July 13, 2025, 04:02 PMI think I'm the new tus system there will be a lot more excitement as I could search for a scheme only and also accept other schemes but opt out of playoffs for schemes im not interested in. Also we'd have 1 scheme rating and no duplicates.
Yeah that idea was pitched by me after a chat about ideal league systems M3ntal and I had.
Though it was quite a few years ago that it was pitched now.
So yeah, our idea, the system works with a filter system. Every scheme is available(but of course when we say every scheme we don't mean 99% copies of other schemes), as there are thousands of schemes and the VAAAAAAST majority are slightly altered clones of slightly altered clones.
So every scheme has it's own individual ranking, the most active ones of the season, maybe the top 3 will have their own Playoffs.
The really cool part though is you can compare yourself against others in any way you can with the "mix'n'match" league filter.
So for example there are many strategic schemes... Team17, Intermediate, Kaos, Elite, Abnormal, etc.
You can pick all 5 of the above mentioned schemes in your filter and it will show you the overall stats for the schemes you just picked.
You don't play all those, only want to see Elite & Intermediate? Then remove the others from the filter and check again!
I could compare myself in all of the schemes I enjoy, the ones I'm a top player in, the ones I suck at, any combination I want and see how I stack up against everyone else playing those schemes.
I am hoping that if and when this system is implemented, there is a complete wipe(but saved archive of course) of ALL standings on TUS with a completely fresh start.
It might encourage me to play a little bit, but you know, that's if there are other players in existence by the time it happens lol.
