I, personally say no too. TUS is as good as it is. Of course, some changes are always good, but why do everyone want to change everything? I mean everything, what it as good as it is? Ok, I understand your point, that some changes would be nice, also maybe a try would be ok, but I don't want.

EDIT : Let's do a TSL (TUS Shopper League)?

Your opinion has already been discussed in the previous 7 pages. This isn't changing tus, it is adding to it. Roper since the beginning of worms history has been the overall most popular scheme in league games. TEL is really popular right now and is a huge success. Its my opinion, that a roper league would be similarily successful.

Not to knock the shopper scheme or the people who love shopper, but, roper differs from shopper in many ways. Roper is the oldest and most classic scheme in tus, roper is picked more often then shopper. A roper league would encourage more oldschool wormers to play again. In my opinion roper is more deserving of its own league.

If you want a tus shopper league I suggest starting your OWN thread and poll and try to make it happen. A tus shopper league has nothing to do with this thread or this poll.

cOke

havnt read this thread, but its something i would like to see.

always thought tus would be better with individual scheme leagues instead of an overall league. its why i dont play tus cause i cant be arsed to play other people schemes or play people that cant play for shit in my choice.

play more games and u see thats not the case in classic league (;

Dub-c

I think the classic league is great, but Madog just showed one example of how a roper league could bring more activity and be successful.

I am sorry Johnny, but I honestly couldn't disagree with you more, and I honestly mean no offence.

Sorry but, if you add to something, you change it, if you take away from something, you change it, etc.

Roper has only been the most popular scheme 'overall' for one main reason, because it looks cool and is fun to play even when you suck at it, the effect of rope is now wearing off, and people are starting to enjoy more tactical and consistent games, the Roper scheme we have now is seriously flawed and you should really considering anything possible to come up with a more efficient scheme IF TRL actually takes off.

Roper is just as old and classic as Elite/BnG/T17 (in TuS), they all share the same status when it comes to describing schemes as "classic".

While a Roper League would most definately be really active and alot of fun, I don't see any reason to believe it would encourage more oldschool wormers to play again, what do you base this knowledge on? I think most oldschool wormers that don't play anymore stopped playing because they either found better games, got bored, or personal life became too busy with careers or whatever not because TRL wasn't invented yet

Even if oldschool wormers decided to come and play(which if they did, would be nice for sure), I really really doubt any of them would last, they might play for a few months, get bored again, and get back to their lifes.

I agree that TRL would be much better than a TSL though lol.

I agree they should start their own thread, but, you must appreciate/respect and understand their side of the debate, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I'm going to change my vote to yes, while I don't think TRL would be the best thing ever, I would still like to play some games against really good ropers now and again and see how far I can get, considering I started out on Wnet with Ropers, I actually feel like I should support this, I have alot of great memories with this scheme and played with some talented and very nice players, and besides, the world won't end if TRL starts.

MonkeyIsland

Ok, I'll do something about this league.

Please answer this, (not Johnny, anyone who is really dying to play in TRL)
A league is basically some series of games getting played, then best players of that season go to PO. What is the difference if we have scheme playoffs inside classic league? On this theory, if people reach enough games for a specific scheme, Roper in this case, they go through playoffs. How this idea is different than a total separate league? Before you say about opponents "pick", we could set a rule about being able to play one scheme only. I've seen many people already ask for single scheme tus. Like "TUS Hysteria ne1?"
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

TheKomodo

MI, that is an excellent idea, Would it be possible to have Scheme Playoffs for other schemes also?

Or is this what you mean?

This idea, along with being able to single pick, I really like, but, wouldn't it stop people from the whole "all-round" thing?

Does anyone even care about all-round anymore?

Or are people happier playing the schemes they love more?

THeDoGG

humm i'm not sure about this, that mean we would have to play much more games. And if we keep picking always the same scheme, it's going to be more and more risky for our overall rating (much points to lose in case of lose and only a few to win).

To reach 50 games in roper for example, that mean we would have to play a total of 100 games (supposing I always pick roper, and my opponents always pick another scheme).

I think you are confusing yourself Dogg lol, whether it's picking same scheme(Roper) in Classic League, or playing TRL, it'll be risky for your overall rating either way as it's the same system.

And MI did say this:
