Really great ideas by Triad. If match making become a reality I would play more leagues. In League of Legends I played ranked games a lot, many hours per day (I rarely played for fun, I used to play like more than 10 solo queue games per day). In WA I really don't have much patience to play ranked games. The very good part of WA for me is the creativity it brings. In League of Legends there is not much creative things you can do. You can make fan art, but that will not be inside the game. You can play with champions with bizarre builds or bizarre roles but nothing too creative that you can see inside the game as WA.

Many league players were not very cool to me too and many were very against new schemes they only thought about leagues and nothing more. If you don't play leagues you are noob, if you edit one thing in the TUS scheme, you are noob. And that made me avoid playing TUS leagues. I know many players who don't like TUS so much due to this kind of behavior of the players. However with time I started to enjoy TUS and see other aspects of the site such as a very good platform for schemes with the best actual editor (better than the game editor AND SchemeEddy), it is the only site I know which has scheme icons, this is really a great feature, the website is beautiful and well organized, I like the communities, the maps don't receive bullying tags like WMDB "UNIMAGINATIVE" (this is the worst tag and useless of all), etc, etc.

I believe with new updates coming people will start playing WA again. Like many people I see are playing again. Now with the custom terrains it is more fun to play in random maps.

I think the app would be good to notify about stuff happening on TUS. For example, I would like to receive notifications if someone uploaded a new scheme on TUS. But this is me, most people I believe wouldn't like to receive notifications about that. So, the app should let you choose which notifications do you want to receive. Most people would like to receive notifications about Private/Direct messages or replies in forum posts. Others would like to be notified about cups or tournaments happening. Others would like to be notified about new challenges or even new maps. I believe the notifications would be a great feature to an app version of The Ultimate Site of Worms.

Many people influenced me. But I'd say Run influenced me a lot due to his writings, schemes, etc.

General discussion / Re: WWP-like mods in WA?
« on: February 05, 2021, 09:07 PM »
Hi, worms24. WA does not support all WWP wormpots and some of the features that WA has that is similar to WWP are not exactly equal. WWP's Super Rope Mode WA does not support yet, but the rope from worms 2 and other rope features such as batty rope and rope roll drops WA is capable to apply in the extended options (clicking at the star on the scheme options menu, you need to unlock those extended options first, by completing WA missions or using a cheat code). The crate shower feature is not equal in WA, crates appear with parachutes, and are slower than WWP, but you can set the weapons you want to appear in crates better than WWP (you can find it in the extended scheme options). The damage x2 you need to activate in extended game options "conserve instant utilities" and then on the weapons options painel, click on "cheats" button and set Damage x2 as infinite. Wormpots like David and Goliath mode, specialists, and others WA cannot reproduce yet.

I'm just linking a report from a player on discord:

The player tried many times to register and failed.

Tech Support / Re: Crate Shower questions (3.8 RubberWorm)
« on: January 07, 2021, 03:32 AM »
I miss the wormpot from WWP that had the crate shower effect. I never liked so much the crate shower from RubberWorm. I know that even before v3.8 RubberWorm could simulate the crate probability exactly as the one from WWP (allowing the appearence of skip go and surrender in crates), but those parachuting crates are not as dynamic as the wormpot from WWP. It is more natural in WWP, it is like getting a crate shower utility crate in WA, but since the beginning of the match. Not those parachuting slow crates from RubberWorm.

UISxFighter? that guy used to spend a lot of time creating and testing schemes. I don't think he plays anymore :( played a lot with him during the 2009-2013 era
Yes, exactly him. A brazilian player. He seemed to be a sensitive person and he had some irritability. But, he was very creative player, very good on the schemes he used to play and worked hard on scheme testings. I was his friend in WA, and used to play and test schemes with him. Good to know people still remember him here, he was very active on that era.

HostingBuddy schemes have been updated!
Three brand-new schemes have been added:

OMG! I almost cried now. I wish I could talk to DumbBongChow and Fighter to show these amazing news! Neocombat and Plop War Rubber Version took plenty of time testing the schemes, balancing them. I need to check if they were updated to 3.8 or if they are still the same (but some new 3.8 features would probably be good to them, unfortunately they are not here to update). I will surely use HostingBuddy more times now.

I do think most of your schemes are variations of existing schemes, Kradie. This doesn't mean it is plagiarism. I did not study about plagiarism, so I don't know technically what can be considered plagiarism. Maybe searching on the internet we can find a better answer than my opinion. My opinion is that plagiarism is when you copy and paste someone's idea saying it is your own work. Example of plagiarism: if I play a game with a different scheme someone did not release yet and then I simply extract the file and upload it on TUS as my authorship. For me plagiarism is usually bad intention of someone to receive ALL the "glory" from the hard work of another person.

Note that sometimes coincidences happen and this is normal, for example, after a research I discovered that the first Trick Race map was from 2001 by a brazilian player called Stratovarius, but if you search in WMDB, you will find many very old trick race maps with other names, from 2005 for example. I don't think people even knew the Stratospecial map, they only had the same idea on a different time (the scheme wasn't that popular). Sometimes the coincidences are way too close from each other and make us think if it was a case of plagiarism or not. For example, the Darts scheme was released when there were very, very similar schemes such as "Drill Fly" and "Drill Flier". Why only under the name "Darts" the scheme got well known? I don't know. I believe SiD is a very creative person since he created many other original schemes, very interesting maps such as the one with a big condom with a worm inside it and he doesn't seem to be someone who would steal someone's work or idea. I believe Darts got famous due to his influence as a competitive player and his strong link to the community. Even though I believe the ones behind Drill Fly or Drill Flier weren't credited or mentioned enough all this time. In my opinion it is a good practice to say the schemes that inspired you for creating your scheme or if it is a variation, just make it clear that it is a variation or cite the author of the scheme or the scheme itself you modified.

Everybody inspires on each other ideas, this is normal, this is how things evolve. Darwin and Wallace had the same idea and published that idea together. If weren't they, other people would release the idea of Natural Selection with other name, but it could take a long time for this. I believe some works of art are more creative than others, usually few are very creative introducing a new way of thinking and the majority just release alternate version of something it is already consolidated.

I'm trying to reunite and classify many of the different schemes I find around the community (check Scheme ideas page), but I really don't know if I'm doing this correctly, sometimes people don't agree with my choices, but I believe this is just like the classification of living beings, it is not easy and this is made by an agreement of many scientists. This is what I like on a wiki, it is not a simple website, everybody can contribute or change something they don't agree, until a consensus.

Oh no, a browser is trying to open a text file as a text file! What a terrible error!!
Right-click -> Save as

OMG, thank you, so easy to solve... I didn't even know schemes were text files. However, it is still strange because it didn't happen years ago and this only happens with WKB and not with all browsers. Many people I know gave up downloading from WKB due to this issue.

This is an error that happens with all scheme downloads on WKB. However they work with some browsers, for example, I cannot download using Chrome, but if I click using Firefox it works. Your scheme is very creative by the way. I hosted it in Anything goes at least 2 times and had fun playing. One thing I wonder is why you decided not to turn on "objects are pushed by explosions" feature, probably you have a reason for that. I want to test the scheme with this feature later, not sure if it is good or not to the scheme. The scheme is very nice the way it is, though.

Ah, my english is not so good too. But, if I wrote something wrong, other people may fix it.
