I was about to be positive about this game, but then I had a second look at trailer and it's trash. Very generic, boring, and non exciting.  No wonder that Worms 2020 trailer showed a worm smashing previous tittles to bits. Worms franchise is indeed dead.

I can't speak for everyone, but based on what I know and whom I played with. Some of these people, not just ZaR people, likes Big RR z. However, I know there are people here who hates the knowledge of playing ZAR for money.

I think the best way this could be remedied, is for the games to be bo3. 1. Regular Big RR, and 2. Big ZaR RR. The winner of second game chooses either Big Z or Normal Big RR. Besides, it is a lot of money involved.  The effort needs to be earned

Ultimately, it is your cup, your money, your call.

I've been telling people to stop living in a bubble, and just meet new active players. At first I thought LilScrappy aka DawgyStyle was just another alias, but I was wrong! Game still strong!

Back in the days when an update came, people were hyped and just happy to get it. Today, new and current people can be hyped and appreciative over new update, just like old times. So I think this 3.8 update will hold us together. So in 10 years time, maybe today's current players will complain about WA not being the same So who cares, time marches on.

Happy to be part of this game and the community. Witnessing new updates, and transition into a new era of WA.

Worms Armageddon should have a timeline of its different periods. Beginning, 3.5 Update, Color update, CE league, and so on.

I think most of the experienced players feel that way.  We always played for fun and for the competition, there was never a single worms professional or esports footprint though, and when the competition went away, so does the desire to get better and play more.

I still play here and there for fun, but its been 20 years on and off, thousands of games, and few new gameplay mechanics, coupled with devs that don't care about the hardcore playerbase. 

There was a window to invigorate the 2d worms fanatics but it seems like it has passed.  Deadcode and Cyber have more than done their part many times over even if they and the other maintainers never release 3.8.  The game has enjoyed several great incarnations of activity.  We are in the twilight, and that is just fine with me.

The league is only enjoyed by a few die hard competitive people. This alone doesn't make WA dead. AG is still filled with new and old regulars myself included. I still play cups, and tournament here and there, but even if they aren't as active as I hoped they would be, don't make WA dead.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but I think that's a bit disrespectful to Deadcode & team. This hardcore playerbase you speak of, is merely present, and even the developers would ''focus on the hardcore's needs'' I think it wouldn't ameliorate anything.
Still, I do believe the developers are well aware of what everyone wants and not just a set of players.

Sorry if that was unclear, was talking about team17 when I referenced "coupled with devs that don't care about the hardcore playerbase"

DC and CS's updates seem aligned with the hardcore playerbase and have taken suggestions as so, I don't think there is any question of that

Hardcore players and the league drive TUS and AG activity, the drive-by worms players don't stop in here
