Board Game so I could still change the gameplay everytime ;D But yea, without the sandbox this game would be much less appealing I think

It's like if WA was a RPG and Korydex was the character who maxed out on Intellect.

I love to see such amazing coordination and organizing lol.

This match is going to be insane, in my opinion, hands down the 2 best League Ropers right now.

Quite literally more excited to see this, than pretty much any of my own personal achievements in the history of this game lol.

On a side note though, I am absolutely mindblown:

Since 1972... GMT is actually been called UTC!

What?!?!?

So everybody has been saying it wrong for over 50 years and nobody even noticed???

If you had to play one scheme only for the rest of the life

I'd kill myself.

Not a joke answer.

General discussion / Re: Lots of little clans
May 17, 2024, 04:55 PM
Why do we even have Playoffs? Nobody seems to care even the slightest in being reliable, efficient and organized for Playoffs.

Literally, look at ANY playoffs for anything in the past year and see how absolutely lazy and useless everyone is at organizing their matches quickly...

Sometimes, if you're lucky, you get a Cup, and they play all their Group games in 1 day, so why can't they do the same bloody thing for playoffs? Why do people like to leave it for months before playing their games?

What's funny is you see all these excuses for not being available, yet you still see them playing other video games, chilling with their friends etc. So I've got to ask, why do people even want Playoffs when they visibly and noticeably cannot put the effort into getting their games done?

Personally I am fed up with Clanners recently anyway... Without going into the silly amount of people quitting and joining or rejoining clans... I'm not even going to show up for the Playoffs for Season 28 because too many people have left it too long and that time has past, we're pretty much in Season 30 now and haven't even finished the Season 28 Clanner Playoffs.

It's depressingly pathetic that this community can't do something as simple and easy as organize 2 bloody games together over the course of  2-3 months. It's ONE game for Semi Final and ONE game for Final - HOW CAN MOST OF YOU NOT DO SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE??? If you can't play, then simply forfeit and take part in the next Season, making people wait for nothing, it's selfish and makes this entire community look weak, undisciplined and like we don't know wtf we are doing.

Even clans that have LOTS of members... Like STF, just because Kaleu PC broke, the rest of us have had to wait like over a month even though they still had multiple members active.

Quote from: Rocket on May 17, 2024, 07:28 AMNow I see Sbaffo's point clearly when he made MV with 2 ppl in it. For those who are still here and compete actively, this is gold. No players in your team who logged in last time 6 years ago, no players counted as  "ghost" teammates cos never play league.

Yeah, I see Sbaffo's point but think it's entirely subjective and VERY unrealistic.

Hands up here who actually enjoys all 12 schemes in the main TUS League:

  • Aerial
  • Big RR
  • BnG
  • Elite
  • Hysteria
  • Intermediate
  • Roper
  • Shopper
  • Team17
  • Tower Race
  • TTRR
  • WxW

And it doesn't matter what your opionion is, Big RR and Tower Race ARE 2 different schemes with 2 different map styles and actual roping styles, you can be good at one and bad at the other, just look at blitzed vs Lupastic. Lupastic easily beats blitzed in Tower Race where he usually doesn't stand a chance in any other roping scheme against blitzed.

There is NO way you can expect just 2 people to both cover AND enjoy all 12 schemes actively and being extremely efficient in all of those schemes. It just doesn't happen, even Sbaffo, who is arguably the best "allrounder" who was active for the past 3-4 months, is easy enough to beat at Artillery schemes for any good artillery player, not even close to being a top player in Strategic schemes...

If the Clanner league was only 3 schemes like it used to be, absolutely, small clans are great! In this day and age, they are, in my opinion, they are bad for multiple reasons:

Availability - Due to only having 2 players they aren't always around to even compete with.

Reliability - This could either be good or bad depending on the players, in most cases it's not very good, even if you have 20 players, WA players are kind of infamously unreliable in organizing games and showing up on time, this kind of goes to every clan I guess but it's even more prone in small clans due to not having the next thing on the list.

Coverage - Doesn't cover as many schemes, so less likely to win anything. Of course it's not impossible to be sufficient in literally everything, but that is VERY rare, and usually doesn't happen.

It's frustrating though, I remember back in early 2000s, clans were like 3-6 members usually, and covered all the schemes together though it was much easier back then to be good at most of the schemes.

Over time though, the more schemes we've added to leagues, you usually see the number of members grow in order to cover all the schemes.

I straight up do everything I can to avoid Team17 and Intermediate, if it was my choice, I'd give out free wins just not to waste my time playing it and focus on what I do enjoy.

Yeah it's all fine and dandy if you're a VERY UNIQUE case like Sbaffo, he's like not even the 1% he's like the 00000.1% of people who are quite happy to play literally any scheme and enjoy it.

On the plus side, there are a lot of good things going in WA right now, but Playoffs is one of the most unorganized, inefficient and unreliable competitive events that exists in WA and I sometimes wonder why we even bother having them because even the format for Playoffs being Bo5 is easily abused and nowhere near optimal anyway.

#546
I can't be bothered, was supposed to play this way over a month ago...

Not to mention the clans that made playoffs don't even have the same players as they did when they made the playoffs...

Lupastic was in STF and a main reason they made playoffs, now he is out...

Granted MV already lost but walrus joined TdC now who are in Finals...

sock has joined and quit like a billion times, blitzed has been in almost every clan that's in the playoffs.

Quite frankly. What's the point when people can't stick to a fln clan for even 1 whole season.

Now the playoffs don't even reflect through season it was played lol.

Wish there was rules about clan rosters and transfer windows.

This is a joke.

Add disciplinary rules for Playoffs already:

You have 2 weeks to play your PO game, or whoever makes no effort forfeits - No excuses, if you have any kind of emergency in real life, forfeit, and then take part next time. That's what real competitive events are like. People just accept they either want to or don't want to, or can or cannot actually play and then do it.

We always have more Seasons in the future, stop hoarding and wasting time already! If you can't play, then just forfeit, stop being selfish and wasting other peoples time who are READY and willing to play!

This community puts so little effort and/or priority into getting matches played we either need to create mandatory rules that force people to play or forfeit, or just get rid of Playoffs altogether because nobody cares anymore.

Leagues Playoffs / Re: TRL Season 32 Playoffs
May 15, 2024, 04:11 PM
REMINDER ABOUT TRL PLAYOFF STREAMS:

The TRL Playoffs matches from Semi-Finals and onwards must be organized in advanced and streamed.

Some players had won their Quarter Finals already so I messaged them on Discord to remind them to organize their Semi Final in advance so it can be streamed. One of them told me they had already played one of the games and I explained it will be void and will need to be replayed so that it can be streamed. They did not like the news that they would have to play again and we got into a bit of an argument.

It is mandatory for the TRL Playoffs to be streamed as written way back in February and approved by MonkeyIsland:

12th February 2024 - https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/leagues-general/new-league-using-trl-as-a-test-drive-starting-1st-march-2024-36443/

1st March 2024 - https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/announcements/multi-trl-season-started-36522/

Neither of those posts were edited after the day on which they were posted.

I'm only interested in Semi-Finals onwards, not even Quarter Finals, that's like 4 matches total... I'm not asking much for giving up £100 of my own money.

Now here's the thing... If any of you have a serious issue with having your match streamed then there is only 1 solution:

If you and your opponent agree to forfeit the prize money, you can both play without streaming. However, if your opponent is trying to organize the match for streaming and you are refusing, then you will be replaced by another player, the next player in line or the player already finished but ranked highest, for example, if it's the Grand Final, then the Bronze match winner will replace the player refusing to play in the Grand Final.

Cash prizes are not possible without the overall support and hype that streaming generates, including donations from viewers which goes back into the stream and prize money for TRL/Cups.

Remember, this is Leagueception, it's a league within a league within a league... It's CWA within TUS within TRL.

We're lucky that TRL was already there and suitable for this idea to be implemented and nobody was actively using it already.

Without streaming, there is no consistent cash prize event. Without streaming, there is no incentive for me to even be involved.

It's not like you even have to put much effort into it anyway, I'm the one doing all the work related to organizing and streaming, MonkeyIsland does all the work managing the actual League system on TUS. All you have to do, is show up and play at an arranged time lol. Surely that's not asking too much to contribute towards creating a fun and reliable league with pocket money prizes?

Leagues Playoffs / Re: TRL Season 32 Playoffs

Deadlines will be similar to normal TUS Leagues so there's no rush really.

However, the sooner you play and finish the sooner you will get paid for winning! 8)

Yeah it's crazy, I didn't play Shopper for so long can't even remember the rules. Though when I thought about it, I was actually thinking of the current WxW rules lol.

I actually know who these 2 are and why they went viral recently lol.

Even you played his pick, he didn't report. So its not fair that you report...

Time is more valuable than a report. If you give them your time, they should give you theirs or accept the forfeiture of points.

Rafka is in the right here, imo.

Keep in mind, a technical win report is usually a way of making sure they play the match.

Most people don't care about giving away points I schemes they don't like anyway.
pretty sure MI has always said you can't report a technical win unless game 1 has been played and reported

I always understood it as if you play your opponents pick and they refuse yours you report a technical win.

If that isn't how it is, it should be because wasting someones time like that is very abusable.

Exactly.
