Lmao. I get matched against your slower times though. None of those crazy ones you posted. I'm still on rope #3 though, level 9.

Now we just gotta figure out who this "rydt88" guy is.

Sure it is faster but i figured out how to control it better. Was wondering, have you played with any of my record ghost?
I've definitely raced you a few times, but I just did about 10 races and you weren't in any of them. Typically DioPorco is the fastest guy I get matched against right now. You must be higher ranked or something.

By the way is your new rope the chain one (number 4 for $2000k) or the final one, number 5?

Wow, this program is great! Makes really nice maps with default settings. Love the option to load your own texture image.
Is adding arrows on your to-do list? I tend to minimize after a while, and lose track of which direction to go.

Replays are better than ghosts anyway, you can do so much more with a replay.

From what i've saw, the ghosts give you some sort of feeling that you are playing against other people live, but this is like a magic trick, an illusion, and once you know the truth, it's not as exciting or wonderful.

I do not take pleasure in comparing Rope Clash to WA and calling it inferior, it is only an inferior game because WA is like the holy grail of roping physics, I don't think anything will ever match it, there is no shame in this.

I am still impressed by a lot of individual aspects of this game, but personally more interested in Xrayez project.

Maybe, who knows, one day Mesiba will make something we all love?
Rope Clash lets you race against your own best ghost in time trial mode. That is excellent because you see exactly where your roping is less than optimal. Replays are amazing and a crucial part of WA's continued success - nobody would argue that - but ghost racing in addition would be great. I really doubt that it's possible though.

Sure, if I have 3 hours I'd pull my laptop out. If I have 5 minutes or even 30 minutes I'm not playing WA - for that hassle there's nothing new for me to experience, no more magic. ProjectX still gives me that experience, but it's hard to find games, and it has poor compatibility/performance. I really want 3.8 to come out and for this new scheme format to be taken advantage of.

Does anyone know if it would be technically possible to add ghost racing to WA?

Remember the line ''Limited parameters'' j0e? I think you are exhibiting this trait wonderfully in your post. There's tons of magic left in WA. But with a narrow mind that has exhausted all most resources within the parameters, then it is hard to see past the horizon.  But you and others do not allow yourselves to go beyond, but instead clinging to the usual worn out phrase''None of my friends plays WA anymore. WA is dead''. It is not, regular dudes like you and I still plays it. Try something new, venture into the unknown.

Sure some of my friends don't play much or nothing at all anymore, but that's not to say the game is dead. It is the pursuit of activity you ride on, and what you take with you, will be part of the ride. I play a variety of scheme, particularly Zar schemes, it is the scheme people often come to my game for. A beacon of activity and fun. You need to find your beacon, as well as everyone else. The past is dead, get over it.

Ghost racing huh? Sounds like a module that could be made.

Also WA is superior, compared to this inferior PC rope clash. duh.

People carry laptop easily in backpacks....  ::)
WA is not dead, it's still fun and I still play it. But I've explored just about every game mode/mod over the past 19 years. When 3.8 is released we'll finally be able to play Rubberworm games with any random noob (provided they have 3.8), and it opens the doors for a ProjectX-like mod or built in scripting in the future. 3.8 is going to radically change the type of games being hosted. More people are going to be having more fun. The last update was in 2012 - people see that date when they log in. Now they'll see 2019 and be more likely to stick around.

I've said it before:

1. Add unicode support (chinese etc)
2. Make a wormkit module that automatically translates chat to the player's language
Unicode support is easier said than done, due to the fact that this game actually uses a bitmap font. If you want to add more text, you'll have to either make the image of the bitmap font bigger (which would mean taking the file and designing all letters from the ground up) or switch to a vector font (which doesn't support the outlines that this game has, and might BREAK compatibility with older versions and replays unless the ancient bitmap font is kept.). Either way, it would be a chore to do, and would only set back development of the vital 3.8 update.
As for the translation, maybe we should put that functionality in a snooper to see if it works. Plus, how will it translate text? Google Translate? That wouldn't work if you don't have the internet! That would also be another slog of a feature to do, and there might be bad translations. Maybe doing it in Wormkit is alright, but we should test in a snooper to see if it works or not. Everyone playing this game speaks English Anyways, so we could make. If it's done in WormKit, 3.8 might actually BREAK it. Then, you'll have to make a new version for 3.8, and some players might become dinosaurs sticking to 3.7 in the meantime, which we can already see with 3.6 and Project X, which is a WormKit module which sadly hasn't been updated for 3.7, basically forcing players to use an older version. I know I rambled on in that sentence, but I was just explaining my point.

tl;dr - These would be difficult to implement, and would waste time better spent on getting 3.8 out, which is necessary if we want this game to not become a ghost town.
Yandex has a free translation API allowing up to 1 million translated characters per day.
We'd have to keep the bitmap fonts I think. Maybe a system that hot-swaps the bitmap file depending on the player's language could be devised, maybe even fully through wormkit. Similar to how people can make/use custom map terrains for random maps. Might be impossible if those asian languages require more letters/glyphs for basic communication than we can fit in a bitmap. In that thread about Asian worms Pac-Man unpacked a bunch of the files from the games- I wonder if there's anything usable in there.

An alternative - now that WA has built-in windowmode support with 3.8, we could potentially disable WA's native Page Down chat menu and make a new chat window that seamlessly appears on top of the game window. That'd bypass having to make bitmap fonts for all languages. There's probably some existing open source chat program we could use/modify, which might allow copying/pasting/selecting text and voice chat in-game too. Even if unicode could only be used in-game, it'd be a big improvement.

Hm surely none of you uses that app that allows android games being played on pc? :D
gj.
Where would the fun be in that? I'm pretty sure this game would be super easy to cheat at if you wanted to.
You can play time trial, collect coins and buy upgrades while offline, therefore the server isn't verifying any of your numbers. I'm without wifi/data a lot for my job in rural canada so the offline ability has been nice.

I just played Sensei and pavlepavle  :D

I haven't played in days. Ever since sbaffo and j0e decided to take over the world haha.
Still haven't beaten your run of 55 secs. The controls are so clumsy in tight spaces.
Edit- Oh that's StepS nvm... where is the delete button? :D

Seems everyone who has tried this game thinks it's great. Maybe you should just give it a try :P

The update seem significant enough for a reissue, and If it is marketed properly, it could accumulate more players.
I'd be all for that if it meant Cybershadow and Deadcode were getting paid. Team 17 doesn't deserve to cash in on their work otherwise. Even though they do keep the server running.

I know of at least one player who plans to come back..
