"I feel like I play the best people that are on each time I go on Wormnet, but unfortunately, what that means is that a lot of the time I play vs. people who are far below my skill level (no offense to anyone intended)" You just answered your self  hahahahaha your opponents are only a bunch of random noobs from wormnet, the only time you get to play with pro players you get beaten up and raped hard, like in the game i'm attaching here.

"TUS singles doesn't hold much appeal to me 90% of the time, but joining a clan and then possibly doing some serious clanning does sound fun after I feel like I'm back to my full skill level." WHAT? Clanner are basically like tus singles xDDD you don't want to shame your self in real 1v1 competition coz you're a pussy.

"I am aware of that. I was just expressing how it's frustrating getting crap placement 2 games in a row in which he gets to go first. By the end of the first turn of the game I'm already f@#!ed. I think I've figured out his strategy though. He doesn't conserve AT ALL. Just comes at you with everything he has from the beginning and goes for one-shot kills to keep the HP deficit as large as possible. It was a learning lesson... can't "turtle" up with 2 vs. 2 with 8 worms. Even with turn advantage, you're still kinda screwed if you have a really massive HP deficit and mobility is limited." Like in the 2nd attachment, you're finding excuses over losing against someone far better than you, grow some balls faggot, you should have bought something like this instead of a keyboard: (watch the attachment if you don't get what i mean)

"Do you seriously think I don't deserve to be in one of the better clans in this game?" NO! Stop opening/posting in these forums, every post you do makes your self more ridicolous. Don't bother to post your wall of text full of excuses and shit because i won't read it, sucker.

Not everyone who I play is random noobs. In fact, most of them aren't random noobs. They're just people who don't play TUS, like me. I play with very skilled people every day, and I think that if more of the Worms community actually checked / posted to TUS, I'd be having a lot of people agree with me. Instead, it's always the small group of people who are fanatical about TUS vs. me whenever I say anything.

And Baffo, like I already explained to you before, we have only played a sum total of 3 games with each other, ever. One was a random TTRR with others in which I sucked horribly since I have carpal tunnel syndrome and it is literally painful for me to play. In the WxW's, both of them were when I was totally cold, one of which was played literally minutes after I had woken up for the day because you were being a little asshat on Facebook. The games you have seen me play in are off games in which I'm not playing nearly as well as I can. Unfortunately, the majority of people who I play with on a regular basis never post to TUS, so nobody really has my back here.

And ANO - We haven't played a game since I came back to worms. Before we left, I played tons of games vs. you. I have all the replays on my old computer. I don't think you won a single game vs. me, so who are you to judge? lol

I am not the one talking shit here, you guys are. You're spouting off with your childish comments and are just being rude as f@#! in general. It's a never-ending "whose dick is bigger?" contest for some people like Baffo and Ropa... and ANO is just Baffo's cheerleader, always there to chime in when AFAIK he's never beaten me in his life.

angst

So you still think you're better than me even though I roped circles around you with witnesses after being 1 year off the game?

you must be truly deluded

you should start by playing singles, get beaten up a bit and get some perspective on this whole worming thing you seem so alien to, even after 20 years

Ropa, you didn't rope circles around me. Otherwise, you would have won that roper. You sucked, bro... and in the TTRR (our first game / unwarmed) you managed to beat me with your last worm by a couple of seconds. If you call that "roping circles" around me, you're just way off. Your team also lost that Team17 pretty handily, and *barely* won the elite. So on the whole, I feel like you got outplayed that day. I came back from a break not too long ago too, fwiw.

Skunk3, I offer myself for Elite, T17, Hysteria, Shopper, Bng clanners in case you wanted to create a clan yourself

Open your clan with Vesuvio, maybe Godmax and Tobi also will join. (dunno who else, Taner is inactive)

gl with your clan ;)
Oh look, another person who I literally haven't played in a minimum of 2-3 years, if ever? How cute.

Komo, you've seen me play recently. Do you seriously think I don't deserve to be in one of the better clans in this game? I play with all kinds of skilled people in decent clans every day (including people who read these boards) and I don't seem to have any problem holding my own, most of the time. Not bragging, just saying.

I don't want any trash talk or jokes. I am willing to 'try out' as I have done countless times before if some clan feels I'm not up to par.

you're an average roper, a bad roperacer and the way you talk about intermediate, a limited default player.

No idea about Bng or Team17, you could look to make a career in those
Once again, talking about shit you know nothing about.

I just beat you at roper the other day, did I not? And I wasn't even playing very well.

You barely beat me at TTRR and that was on your last worm, gj. TTRR I can be very good at one some days, but I don't like playing it too much because I have carpal tunnel syndrome. In Big RR I'm not afraid of anyone. Sure, there's people that can beat me, but consistently? None that I know of.

And speaking of defaults, didn't my team mate and I own you and Anubis at T17? We also dominated you in that elite until my team mate's failed kamikaze. Luckily you had a homing missile to finish me off in SD and the water was nearly at the top! Mad skillz there!

So in those 4 games, you lost 2, got one cheap win with a homing missile at the last possible moment, and beat me in a TTRR by a couple of seconds on your last run. You never play with me, you don't know my level of skill. So why bother? Just because?

Intermediate and other default schemes I'm pretty good at. I'm just not used to playing Mablak, who can get a multikill on his first turn every time, and a one-hit kill in almost every other turn, or at least screw you over somehow.

You really just aren't qualified to chime in on this, Ropa. I don't care about your opinions, this has nothing to do with you, and I asked from the start for no bullshit because I KNEW you or someone like you would have to say something.

Just lost 2 int's in a row to Mablak, that doesn't even make me wanna play anymore for tonight

what do u expect? Mablak is one of the best intermediate players, u r not.

I am aware of that. I was just expressing how it's frustrating getting crap placement 2 games in a row in which he gets to go first. By the end of the first turn of the game I'm already f@#!ed. Anyway, that was just a random comment.

In response to others: I am a pretty well-rounded player. I'm not bragging here. I'm just saying that I have a fair amount of experience with ALL schemes, and I can generally hold my own unless I go up against a specialist type player who plays NOTHING but a certain scheme. (Especially when I care - in other words, I'm not drunk/stoned when playing.)

I'm not looking to create a clan, as our community is so small already. It would be wiser to join an already-established clan.

But NBR is inactive as f@#! too, plus I was in NBR years ago and most of the cool members from back then are long gone. What I want is to join a clan that wants to actually train hard to get better. I don't feel like I get pushed too hard most of the time. Just lost 2 int's in a row to Mablak, that doesn't even make me wanna play anymore for tonight lol... I dunno how I get the shittiest spawns and he gets 3+ kills on his first turn, every time. It's like an uphill battle from the first round.

Cross-posting my most recent Steam post here in case people don't watch those forums:

I think that the molotov cocktail is a super underrated weapon. That being said, I can think of three similar weapons that I think would be excellent additions to the series.

1. acid flask. works exactly as a petrol bomb, except it keeps burning through terrain round by round until it reaches the water at bottom. (burn rate would be fairly quick vs. petrol)

2. arcane/magic fire - works exactly as a petrol bomb, except the fire is purple and never burns out. (but is editable of course... if we could edit the petrol bomb in such a way, this weapon would be redundant aside from the cool purple fire)

3. wrinkle cream - lol, I know the name is weird but picture this: you throw it just like a petrol bomb and it basically just splashes out and adds to the terrain wherever it touches. you could throw it and fill in holes to prevent people from getting to use (instead of wasting a precious girder), or you could encapsulate another worm and force them to dig out, burrow, or teleport. I think it'd be a great defensive weapon.

Now that I think about it, we should definitely be able to set how many rounds fire/acid last. Being able to edit the "burn rate" of the acid would be great as well. Just some late night thoughts...

I also think that the fire created by exploding crates or barrels should last longer, and be editable. I personally would like to try playing a scheme in which fires NEVER go out, and in fact they can spread on turns with wind above a certain strength. ALSO, fire should still burn through terrain. More slowly than acid, but it should still burn rather than just sit on top of it and do basically nothing like it did in the 2.5D games.

It would also be cool if smoke from fires could make smoke screens in which nobody can see into it or out of it, "fog of war" style. Optional, of course.

TUS Discussion / Re: Please explain this to me

I think that when it comes to clanners or singles, it's very simple:

Your side gets a pick and their side gets a pick. Is there not already diminishing returns built in for winning a certain scheme frequently? If so, it doesn't make a lot of sense that someone (or a clan) would pick their best scheme consistently,  unless their aim is to slowly amass wins/points through loads of games. (Maybe there should be some consideration as to how many points schemes are awarded when they are frequently picked? Are the diminishing returns currently in place enough to compel people to play all schemes?)

For clanners, I don't think any discussion of schemes should be done beforehand whatsoever. I feel like if you're willing to step up and start competing in a team environment, you and everyone else in your clan needs to be as much of an all-arounder as possible. I don't understand how people can play for years and NOT be an all-arounder. To be good at anything in this game, it takes time and effort, and pretty much every single one of us has spent a ridiculous amount of time playing this game. If you're lacking in a particular scheme, it is because you haven't put in the work. There's a couple of schemes that I definitely need to work on - and do.

I don't think that 'banning' schemes is an answer for anything. People should be forced to play those schemes they don't like, the schemes they're not so great at and fume about losing so that it motivates them to train and overcome. Too many specialists these days, and not enough all-arounders.

Got me a corsair k70. Fits well on the laptop :)

That's my kb! :)

I think that it feels alright on the whole, but I have noticed that it is not entirely free of keylock. I don't remember exactly how I've activated it, but it's happened before. Also, the up/down arrow action feels a bit weird compared to my old kb. Try flagpoling up narrow climbs in ttrr and you'll see what I mean. It's definitely a joy to type with but TBH I actually prefer my old, non-mechanical, $2 thrift store Dell kb that I used to play with for years. Unfortunately, it's totally wrecked after so many years of abuse.

skunk3's right tho, i was in doubt myself. But yeah, I still think it was an overrated weap. It has limitations.. and Reloaded/Revo online was a noobbash fest neway, darksiding would generally only get yourself in needless trouble. Much easier to seek confrontation. IMO that's not bad for a worms game. As with many games going on the offence is a better idea 90% of the time, even in elite.

I don't think it's overrated. The normal bunker buster does a decent amount of dmg and can hit worms in weird places. The super bunker buster (Reloaded) is basically the same, only it destroys a huge amount of terrain while doing so, and can hit multiple worms. (The dmg is the same IIRC.) The mega bunker buster is OP as f@#!!

There's actually some really good players who play the newer games and know them with the detail and intimacy that most of us know W:A. It is mostly a noobfest for an experienced W:A player, but believe me when I say there's some seriously skilled pros that play (or used to play, at least). Players of the newer games are just now getting to a point in which they know how to deal with darksider tactics in a somewhat effective manner. Since most of them suck at shot-making, one could darkside and BNG it up until the other teams are dead because many of the players in those communities are worthless if they don't have some sort of cheap weapon to use, or a straight zook shot lined up.

Darksiding is a bit more important in W:A than it is in the other games, because in those games there are objects like sentry guns, lucky charms, magnets, physics objects, water, UFO, telekinesis, worship, ferrets, etc. It makes it a lot easier to be a lightsider.

I wish I had a filter to ignore ropa and sbaffo. TUS would be way cooler with that in place lol

I do enjoy watching ropa trying to be generally nicer on the forums since he is being watched and has a very real chance of getting a permaban.

I'm not trying. The only reason I'm on watched is so you can stop reporting posts and stop annoying the hell out of the moderation team. You think I'm on watched because I called you ugly? For f@#!'s sake, your picture is posted for all to see. This is the third or fourth post you make to share your personal opinion on me and nothing else, you're witch hunting and backseat moderating, two universal bads in any community that's run with coherency and not at the expense of the vocal minority, in this case, the two loudest most spammy and annoying posters in the whole forum whose lack of perspective, secondary or college education makes interaction with them a real pain in the ass.

You expect us to sit here and watch you two thread shitters make this thread about your own personal issues?

I've gotten feedback from most of the posts I've made here about worms. You, on the other hand, making posts about Ropa and sBaffo while Komodo cries about a scheme 3 people play.

You're dragging us all back.

So basically what you are telling me, if I am correct, is that the moderation team simply put a "watched" status on your account purely for the sake of placating me and not because of you acting like a little twat? Is that how it is? You're either:

A) Lying
B) Demonstrating how the mod team isn't doing their job properly

Shame either way.

The forum rules are clear, and you've violated them - repeatedly. Hell, you used an alias account to act like your usual, butthole self, got caught, got that account banned, and then are posting back on TUS with your normal account in no time at all as though no rules apply to you because you're the mighty Ropa. I dunno who is more wrong here TBH, you or the mods.

The only time I ever post about you is when you provide me with ammunition. Since you are you, and are wont to suffer from diarrhea of the mouth, there's an endless supply of ammo. Witch hunting? Backseat moderating? Guilty of both charges. I like to see rules enforced with no exceptions or preferential treatment. I'm sure that I'm not alone in that regard.

You literally cannot interact with most people without making some sort of an insult. In quote above, you insinuated or outright said:

1. I am "annoying" the mod team by reporting your crap a couple of times (2-3 times at most, and all deserved)
2. You essentially repeated your comment about my appearance without doing so
3. You insulted my intelligence (I actually have 3 university degrees and nearly enough credits for a fourth, in political science)

I guess I don't understand because I "lack perspective," eh? What a laugh. Nobody is dragging anyone back here, aside from the egos/attitudes/combativeness/derision of TWO individuals in particular. (Hint: I am not one of the two.) This forum has become a hell of a lot more interesting since I started posting, at least according to the people who have shared that thought with me.

Better stay on good behavior, Ropa! We'd all hate to see you get permabanned. Although, it's not as though you wouldn't just create an alias account and starting lurking/posting again anyway.

To everyone else: You're welcome. :)

And besides, it's an arcade game. These new worms aren't meant for super-customizibility, even if it's just for the simple reason that the graphics are more demanding. In WA every dummy can make a map with a few straight lines and dots, but you cant transfer that to more polished looking 2.3D'ish environments. Anyone who has played Reloaded knows it was a much more painful process to create a map there. And WMD will probably be worse, as the 2d graphics of the T17 maps look splendid. I reckon the map editor won't be much more than creating a general shape and then letting the editor turn this bland shape into an awesome 2d environment that looks identical to the maps that you see posted by T17.

WMD aint gonna have ropers and shoppers I reckon, as AFAIK it was no borders. So even if you manage to create straight lines in the editor you still have goodies falling on top of the 'roof'.

Ropa made good post. Don't evaluate this like its some kind of WA, evaluate it for what it is. An arcade game with a different set-up that is unsuited for straight-copying schemes and shit from WA, but that may offer different opportunities.
Not as many opportunities as WA, but still opportunities. For example, T17 posted an image of a random map that had 2 islands with a castle-building on top of it, it looked like a really great fort map. If the map editor allows you to place vehicles on the map, you might give each player a tank to start with and let the fun commence.

Btw bunkerbuster is overrated. In the other titles it was a pretty cruddy weap most of the time. Did little damage, had limited range, needed to be 100% precise to even do dmg and couldnt fall through multiple layers of terrain. It was kinda like mole strike in WA...

Actually, that's part about the bunker buster isn't entirely accurate. The bunker buster CAN go through multiple levels of terrain. It only blows after it has gone through "X" depth... it is also a point-and-click weapon that has no range limitation aside from the max depth by which it can drill. I think the bunker buster did 30 dmg by default in Reloaded, and the dmg in the 2.5D games was dependent upon worm glass. I wanna say 20-35 dmg, depending. Literally the only way to protect yourself from it (in Reloaded) was to hide with enough terrain above you for the bunker buster to blow before it reaches you, or to be standing directly under an object, such as a sentry gun, mine, barrel, etc. In the 2.5D games the girders are treated as physics objects rather than a normal part of the terrain, so one could hide under those, or a drain hole, or a lucky charm, whatever. At least it's affected by the magnet. The bunker buster variants are three of the most annoying weapons ever created... and the mega bunker buster is the worst of the bunch. A point-and-click HHG that can hit worms underground... smh.
